Emily, an ice skater, has a promotion event in the Arctic. It’s the kind of plan that sounds harmless until she falls off a glacier and ends up alone on an ice floe. Then the movie turns into a countdown you can feel in your stomach: the floe drifts south and slowly melts right underneath her.

„The Drift - Gnadenlose Arktis“ ist Survival ohne große Moralpredigten. Es ist dieser zähe Alltag von: Luft holen, Kräfte sparen, improvisieren. Wenn Emily irgendwas retten kann, dann nicht mit Drama. Sondern mit der ziemlich unbequemen Frage, wie lange Eis eigentlich „noch geht“, bevor es Nein sagt.
