Hannes thinks he has it all figured out: loving family, a house in the green, and a solid career as a writer. The big bestseller years are over, sure. But he handles it like a monk. The only issue is everyone else. Sara and the kids, Carla and Nick, start to feel like they’re living inside one of his “helpful” speeches. His over-the-top care and late-boomer wisdom don’t soothe them. They smother them.

Then everything hits at once. His publisher cuts his novel series. Nick’s chances for Abitur look bleak. And Carla makes the cleanest possible exit by deciding to move out. Finally, Sara wants a break from the marriage and sets up a shared apartment with Carla. That’s when Hannes’ comfortable bubble fully collapses.

Until he meets Vanessa. Will she be the one who kicks him out of his comfort zone. Or is he just about to replace one problem with another?

Hannes hat das perfekte Familien-Setup. Haus im Grünen, liebe Familie, und als Schriftsteller läuft es auch noch irgendwie. Sein Problem? Er meint es so ernst mit „Fürsorge“, dass es langsam zur Dauerbeschallung wird. Während er beruhigende Spätboomer-Weisheiten wie Pflaster verteilt, drehen Sara und die Kinder Carla und Nick spürbar durch.

Dann kommt die Rasierklinge. Der Verlag stellt seine Romanreihe ein. Nicks Abitur-Aussichten sehen nicht gut aus. Und Carla kündigt das Zuhause indirekt, nämlich indem sie auszieht. Als Sara schließlich eine Ehe-Auszeit will und mit Carla eine WG gründet, ist Hannes’ Wohlfühlwelt komplett durch den Fleischwolf.

Und natürlich trifft er danach ausgerechnet Vanessa. Kann ausgerechnet sie ihm diese Comfort Zone endlich sprengen? Klingt wie Klamauk. Ist aber eher ein Familien-Realitätscheck mit Pointen.
