After “The Quiet Rapture,” space isn’t empty. It’s personal. Stars and habitable planets vanish like someone deleted reality and forgot to restore the backups. Naturally, the answer is not therapy. It’s prison labor.

A convict gets dispatched to a dead moon where they’ve reportedly found an ocean made of blood. Not samples. Not rumors. An actual ocean. And for the job they use a small submarine called the “Iron Lung,” which is both a nickname and a dare.

This movie leans into cold, post-apocalyptic vibes. The setup is bleak, the mission is weirdly specific, and the tension comes from not knowing whether the blood ocean holds answers or just another way for the universe to say “nope.” It’s grimy sci-fi with just enough gallows humor to keep it from feeling like a slog.
----------

00:29Why would there be flames?

00:33This is the test.
00:35Closing port hole shielding.
00:37Where's the reason for this quiet rapture?
00:41Too few to rebuild.
00:44Too many to feed.
00:46You're the first one down.
00:48All we have are surface scans, that's why you're there.
00:52Well, one of the reasons.

01:15There aren't enough of us left to be throwing lives away.
01:20But there is too much at stake not to take calculated risks.
01:24Eden doesn't understand that.
01:26You don't understand that!
01:29I just wanna live.
01:33Is that so wrong?
01:37Why doesn't anybody else want that?
