Three timelines, one theme: hope versus reality, with the circle of life doing what it always does. About 45,000 years ago, Thorn, Hera, and Lark are busy surviving both brutal nature and hostile Homo sapiens. The message is clear. Humans show up, problems follow. Cut to the present: Claire is an anthropologist with laser focus, staring at a skeleton like it owes her answers. Her relationship with Greg is the awkward contrast. He’s genuinely into her. She’s… not exactly warm about it. Then we jump to the 25th century, where astronaut Coakley is searching the stars for a new place for humanity after Earth becomes unlivable. It’s ambitious, sure. Sometimes it lands with emotional weight. Sometimes it feels like three separate movies wearing the same coat.

Schnitt in die Gegenwart: Claire untersucht ein Skelett und wirkt dabei eher wie eine Kältebatterie, obwohl sie eigentlich an etwas hängt. Und ja, da ist Greg. Er liebt sie ehrlich. Sie… ist beruflich im Modus „funktioniert“. Dann das 25. Jahrhundert: Astronautin Coakley sucht im All einen neuen Ort für die Menschheit, weil die Erde einfach nicht mehr mitspielt. Klingt nach Anspruch. Ist auch Anspruch. Ob es dabei alles knackt oder eher puzzelt, muss man selbst sehen.
