Detektiv Raymond vom LAPD sitzt nicht etwa gemütlich im Verhörraum. Er sitzt auf der Anklagebank. In dieser nahen Zukunft läuft das Ganze nämlich mit KI, und seine eigene Vergangenheit holt ihn schneller ein, als ihm lieb ist. Der Mord an seiner Frau. Die Jury? Keine Menschen, sondern Maddox, eine hochmoderne Richterin, die Raymond damals selbst mit auf den Weg gebracht hat. Jetzt hat er genau 90 Minuten, um seine Unschuld so überzeugend zu beweisen, dass die Maschine ihm glaubt. Klingt nach Spannung. Ist auch Spannung, nur mit dem Zusatz, dass das System dabei ziemlich kalt bleibt. Wer auf Gerichtsdramen steht, bekommt hier ein technisches Albtraumszenario mit Zähigkeit und trockenem Unterton.
