00:01Very good. Well, Dunfermline very much in the mix for possible promotion via the playoffs.
00:14Face St Johnston in that rearranged game on Tuesday.
00:17Later today, Partick Thistle, who are second, in the last chance saloon for them as they go to Airdrie.
00:24There's coverage of that on the radio this afternoon when the semi-final's over, our broad host Wraith.
00:31The home win would secure a play-off, Ross County against the United, Morton are at home to Queen's Park.
00:36We know that Dunfermline are here next weekend, or next door, to take on Queen's Park as this extra time
00:43gets underway.
00:46Falkirk start there, top six fixtures with a visit to Celtic next weekend, so they too are back in Glasgow.
00:55The league business starts up again.
01:03Outside chance for Falkirk to try and at least reel in Hibernian, because that fifth spot could yet be Europe
01:12if Celtic were to win the Scottish Cup, though clearly Falkirk would be wanting to do that themselves.
01:21And they're going to get the first opportunity potentially of the extra time here.
01:26Brad Spencer over the free kick.
01:31Decent delivery as well, but it's a good headed away by Adelaide.
01:42We've seen loads more of the ball, Falkirk, not being able to do much with it in the final third.
01:53Round about 66% of the ball, Falkirk.
02:03Drogio for Miller.
02:09Here's Wilson, wanted it earlier.
02:20It's Koss hanging in the wind, the brakes to Robbie Fraser though.
02:31It's so tough to call at the moment and what John McGlynn will be very weary of is if this
02:36does go to a penalty shootout.
02:38Falkirk have only ever been involved in one of those in this tournament.
02:41It did come this season.
02:42You're taking it out of your own hands at that point, but this is a chance here.
02:48Dragged well wide by Wilson.
02:51Yeah, it's a big, big opportunity.
02:52I know he's not a great angle, but he takes a really good first touch.
02:59And then he just snatches at it.
03:02Yeah, he should be at least testing the Hawksburg and goal there.
03:06Tyrell Wilson.
03:27But as Scott was saying there, just in the little break before,
03:31extra time, then Fernland Athletic have once again proven, James,
03:34that they can handle top flight opposition, having eliminated Hibernian
03:38and the holders Aberdeen in this tournament on their way here.
03:40Yeah, I think that.
03:43I know people say, oh, it's home game, but you still need to win them.
03:46And they've certainly done that, certainly against Aberdeen in style.
03:49But it's no surprise that they've come in and shown they're a good side against Falkirk.
03:54And you look at the impact that Falkirk have had in the top fight as well.
03:57Teams have struggled to deal with them.
03:59Oh, on the slip.
04:02Delinte.
04:04Decisions to make.
04:06Can't get it past Kiri Manguena.
04:08It's still alive here though with Kyro Wilson.
04:11Jinking around looking for space, unable to find it.
04:16Spencer gets it from Parkinson.
04:19Mark out it comes.
04:22I didn't really make contact with that but he's relieved to see it.
04:28Still in Fernland possession by Matty Todd.
04:32It probably sums up where Falkirk have been this afternoon.
04:35That's a real chance to go and take the lead, take control of the game.
04:40And indecision in that last moment has really, really cost him.
04:45And then Tate, probably got 300 things going through his mind.
04:49Take a shot, I take it to my left, take it to my right.
04:51Go on balling.
04:52Goes for the pass.
04:55It's a Falkirk Corner.
04:58One by Wilson.
05:05needed extra time to get past
05:07Stennis Muir and obviously extra time and penalties to get past Arthur Midlothian
05:13brilliant first half against Dundee United
05:15in the quarters, fell away a bit in the seconds and that ended up being a bit of a grind
05:19for them as well
05:19so they're used to grinding these out
05:25Calvin Miller's ball
05:28extra holds on, no more Motherwell keeper
05:34played in the quarterfinals against Aberdeen and then had to go back to Motherwell because of
05:41goalkeeping, shortage there
05:45the bench for their relatively recent league game
05:50against Celtic
05:55it's a bit of an inauspicious couple of minutes for Dylan Tate
05:59yeah I think that's just frustration, that chance that he passed up
06:05Andrew Todd just skips past him, cynical foul, he'll be still thinking about the options that he had when he
06:13was driving forward
06:15certainly not like him, excellent use of the ball, excellent decision making
06:22there's real senior breakthrough at race over
06:24stood Dylan Tate
06:27swell at Hibbs, it's no fewer than five loans away
06:34it's the cram all that in
06:36despite being
06:37he's 24
06:52Henderson
06:54that's another clear foul
06:59he's taking my openly booth
07:06Tate for Parkinson
07:11Tate for Parkinson
07:14Falkirk up the pitch
07:28tight margins here at Handen
07:33it's well defended by Chiloco Mullen
07:39just have a big future
07:43Lisa with nowhere to go
07:44seemingly
07:45he's found a
07:47route now
07:51Brogio
07:52he's brilliant from Brogio
07:54he's got the corner
07:56could have been so much more
07:59yeah he does really well
08:00wriggling through bodies to create the space
08:03Brogio it's great initially from Lisa
08:08yeah getting across to get the block on
08:11that has been a theme fucking firm
08:13and if they've managed to get through it
08:15back three
08:16absolutely solid for him
08:22in from Calvin Miller
08:25it's a good delivery right on the six yard line
08:31still alive for the Bairns this Spencer
08:35diving's head
08:36diving's head
08:36diving headed away by Nguena
08:37diving headed away by Nguena적
08:40in
08:46Duarte
08:54Thank you very much.
09:16Thank you very much.
09:22Miller for Spencer.
09:28Another corner.
09:54Miller drives it in.
09:57Spencer.
09:59And Fernland doing off.
10:02You can see Philippe Lisa is desperately trying to turn there.
10:07Yeah, it just follows him and it almost wriggles through, but again, Fernland manages to defend it and get it
10:12clear.
10:14This is a bit of freshness for me, this.
10:16Matt Todd, what a shift he's put in.
10:19Yeah, he's being withdrawn now, ten minutes into extra time and replaced by 17-year-old Lucas Fyfe.
10:30He was a starter against Deirdre Onions during the week, during that much changed.
10:36Fernland side that came back from 2-0 down to pick up a, but could be a big point.
10:45Through the Fyfe Elite Academy as well as his time in the Academy at Fernland Athletic.
10:51He's in forward.
10:53From McCann.
10:56There goes Chiloco Amalan.
11:02Ethan Ross and Henry Cartwright are waiting in the wings for Volker.
11:13It will be Dylan Tate and Calvin Miller who will be coming off.
11:20Calvin Miller is one of their penalty takers, converted from the spot against Rangers last week.
11:26Briefly brought them back to 4-3.
11:33He's already taken off Barney Stewart.
11:41Miller wins another corner.
11:44Can drop Kearney.
11:50Lot of territory, a lot of possession for Volker with little end product so far.
11:55It's a semi-final.
11:56All of that stuff does not matter if you go through.
11:59Absolutely.
12:01They have had territory that get dangerous areas.
12:04They just haven't been able to find the breakthrough of that quality.
12:07And you mentioned Calvin Miller coming off being a penalty taker tells you.
12:13John McGrane is not wanting to leave this to penalties.
12:15I think that he has been bright.
12:17He's been the one that looks like he's going to create.
12:19Ethan Ross has got a chance to come on and be the hero now.
12:30Ethan Ross, former Aberdeen player.
12:33He's offered a new contract with Pataudry but turned it down to move to Raythrovers.
12:42Swung in by McCann.
12:43Oxford gets a little touch on to it and is helped out by Fraser.
12:49Approaching the end of the first period.
12:54Despite the fact they're not creating many opportunities.
12:57Falkirk looked by far the most likely to win it in extra time.
13:03McCann.
13:05Made by Abdoulaye.
13:08Given he was a fitness stout.
13:10Andrew Todd still continuing.
13:25Penalties look like their best outcome right now.
13:27Yeah.
13:28I think Falkirk again into that pattern of having the ball in and around the Dunferman box
13:35without being able to find that breakthrough and Dunferman when they win it back
13:39it's almost just giving it back to Falkirk.
13:41Sitting in the formation and almost trying to see this out.
13:48I'm sure that won't be the tactic but it's just the way the game goes sometimes
13:51where you find it difficult to then get control back in the game.
14:00I'm going to pop one minute on top of this first period as Parkinson gives chase.
14:04Out comes Oxford.
14:06Flea up.
14:15One of the Dunferman fans managed to get his head to that.
14:20Some header as well.
14:28Well happy with himself.
14:38Brodio upended.
14:49Sometimes semi-finals can be KG Affairs.
14:52This is certainly one of those.
14:58Here's Ross.
15:02Way too much of it to Kearney's on his bike here.
15:06Andrew Todd to his right.
15:07If we can find him.
15:09Support arriving elsewhere.
15:13That's a good head up.
15:15Not there by Lisa.
15:17Confirm and have it back though.
15:19Oakley Booth.
15:20To Kearney.
15:22Oakley Booth again.
15:23It's a good ball.
15:25Nobody on the end of it.
15:30I thought that was it.
15:31I tell you it's a brilliant cross from Oakley Booth.
15:35He just fires out into an area.
15:39And there's definitely options as Todd makes a run.
15:44It's Fife that makes a run.
15:45There's two of them, isn't there?
15:49Todd's behind him.
15:50Todd's behind him.
15:52He's defending well, you have to say.
15:54But what a dangerous cross it is.
15:57The better openings.
16:29Spencer looking for Wilson.
16:32But that's half time and extra time.
16:35And it remains goalless.
16:40With that opportunity right at the end of the first period.
16:44They'll give Dunferman heart.
16:47Because it's been a little bit backs to the wall for them.
16:51And it was after a good start to the first half of normal time.
16:54Good start to the second half of normal time.
16:56They've surrendered a lot of possession.
16:58And Falkirk have had possession in the areas they really want to be having it in.
17:04Well, they haven't been able to find that killer pass.
17:06Or that little moment of magic that might open Dunferman up, James.
17:10No, they haven't.
17:11They haven't been able to breach the wall that is at Dunferman back three.
17:14Any time they've managed to get into decent areas.
17:17They've got the blocks in.
17:18They've got their bodies down the line.
17:20And Falkirk just haven't been able to find that breakthrough.
17:24And then you look at that opportunity that we've just seen there.
17:28Flashed across goal.
17:30And it looked like it was going to be the breakthrough.
17:32But not able to find it.
17:34And certainly the frustration will all be with Falkirk.
17:36That they haven't been able to even test Aston Oxborough that much in goal.
17:41A good 15 minutes coming up for them.
17:49Words of wisdom there for the Falkirk players from their manager.
17:56What does he need to do, do you think, to be manager of the year for a fourth time?
18:01Does he need to win the Scottish Cup for that to happen?
18:03Given what we're seeing from Derrick McInnes at Hearts, for example.
18:07What we've seen from Jens Bertolascoe at Motherwell, for example.
18:10Where does McGlynn rank in that?
18:12I think it's tough because generally it's decided before the season's finished.
18:17There's still loads to play for this season for plenty of managers.
18:21John McGlynn's certainly in there because of how well he's done so far.
18:25But John McGlynn doesn't want to take a manager of the season.
18:29He wants to finish as high as he can in the league.
18:31He wants to win the Scottish Cup.
18:32And if he does that and misses out on manager of the year, I'm sure he'll be happy.
18:36Oh yeah, Scottish Cup.
18:37We've seen it before.
18:38But where Cam Davidson unbelievably missed out in Man's of the Year when he won two Cups in one season.
18:44It's just the way the voting goes and the timing of it.
18:47But regardless of whether he gets an award for it, the job he's done is absolutely remarkable.
18:56And McGlynn won it in 2010, 24 and 25.
19:00It's that unbeaten season that they enjoyed in League One, their way to that title.
19:05Well, eventually crawled over the line last season.
19:09The familiar figure of Brian Graham comes on for Ben Roggio for the second period of extra time.
19:16Remember, Brian Graham missing a huge opportunity for Dundee United in that final against St Johnston at Celtic Park.
19:23Which is 12 years ago now.
19:29And he's good for a goal, the veteran.
19:35He was helping manage Patrick Thistle, wasn't he?
19:38And got his opportunity to play top flight football again, even at his stage.
19:42Yeah, I mean, quite remarkable.
19:44He's managing Thistle at the end of last season.
19:46Managing the women's team as well, whilst also still playing.
19:51And to get the opportunity to go and play in the top flight again and playing a national semi-final.
19:57Quite incredible.
19:59I remember sitting beside him, actually, when we were at St Johnston, having to watch through the highlights of that
20:05cup final.
20:06No many highlights for him in that one.
20:10Yeah, you see Dunfermline making the change as well.
20:13Chiloko Amollon has come off to be replaced by Chris Hamilton.
20:18The second period of extra time.
20:21He's got the captain's armband as well.
20:25He's a Fifer.
20:26He's a Dunfermline supporter.
20:27He knows how big this is.
20:29He's a season ticket.
20:33And they've got a good smattering of that in the Dunfermline squad.
20:37Guys, you know what the club's all about.
20:39Families deep-rooted in Dunfermline Athletic.
20:47Will it be a winner, or will it be penalties?
20:53I'll tell you what a chef from Chiloko Amollon.
20:57Yeah, and this guy, Andrew Todd.
21:01That goes to Oakley Booth.
21:07After restarts, then Ferman have tended to be the brighter of the two teams.
21:14Things I didn't fancy going for that, trying to conserve some energy.
21:18Yeah, he's just stretched off the cramp there at the end of the first period of extra time.
21:23Certainly a sprint he doesn't need.
21:27I ask this question, I think, all the time now, but I just wonder how long extra time's got in
21:32the game of football generally, not just in the Scottish Cup.
21:36Is there an argument to say these games, if you go to penalties after 90 minutes, given the load, the
21:42weight load that these players have these days?
21:44We heard Neil Lennon talking about the fact they've had to go Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday a lot recently.
21:50I wonder how long extra time's got left.
21:54Yeah, never normally, I mean, it's not been a hugely entertaining game, but generally it's not an extension of quality
22:01the extra time.
22:03And a lot of time it's get through the extra time to get to penalties.
22:07So yeah, I totally see a point.
22:10There's Cartwright for Falkirk.
22:14And he's at.
22:15And he's at.
22:19Wilson.
22:27A bit of scrape there with the...
22:29two other cramping players around.
22:31And that throw-in was level with the penalty spot.
22:33It's been taken a lot further back than that.
22:36Colcourt keen to get things back underway.
22:45It's come all the way through to Ross.
22:48Chance!
22:50Spurned.
22:51By Wilson.
22:54Oh, he knows it.
22:56Yeah.
22:58Brian Graham involved straight away.
23:00Just backing in, getting the space.
23:02He's looking for the reverse.
23:03Wilson gets in there.
23:04I mean, he just has to go and attack it.
23:07He's waiting for it to drop.
23:09If he goes and attacks it,
23:11then he's got a better opportunity
23:14to test Oxfurn in goal.
23:18Nice.
23:19Nice play for Ethan Ross.
23:30Graham again.
23:33Experience could be crucial.
23:37A big role to play from the spot as well.
23:39That's for a little bit later.
23:41Might not get there.
23:42Because there's an opportunity for the Clans here!
23:45That's another one!
23:46It comes!
23:47And goes!
23:50My goodness, what a chance it was for the teenager fight!
23:54Oh, it's unbelievable.
23:55He does so well to get the chance.
23:59Scott Bain is comfortable for him in the end, but what a moment that would have been.
24:06Lucas Fyfe does really well to get himself in that position.
24:16Falkirk are going to bring on centre-back Lewis Nielsen.
24:24It sounds as though Connor Allen will be replaced.
24:28Not had much action recently.
24:30From the first team.
24:37There's confirmation of the change.
24:43There are a couple of players out there who are perhaps not at full fitness today, James.
24:47And they've...
24:48Not even just full fitness because they're returning from injuries.
24:51Connor Allen's case, he's not seen much burst in football recently.
24:54But they've all managed to get to this point in the game, which is credit to them.
24:58Yeah, it is.
25:00It is.
25:00And it's always tough as well.
25:01As much as it's not been, you know, high energy, fast paced.
25:05It's still, you know, it's still a shift for the players out there.
25:09It might be a freaking edge of the box and it's going to go the other way, which will infuriate
25:13the Dunfermline supporters.
25:18And it may be that Tasha and Oakley Booth's got a point here.
25:23Yeah.
25:23It looked like it was a foul on Oakley Booth.
25:30A frustration is why he's been... good?
25:35Nah, maybe not.
25:36Nah.
25:37Great spot from John Beatle.
25:43We're miles away, James, that's why... that's why we got it.
25:46They've had it look like it from here, but...
25:48Craig that John Beaton...
25:50He's won the ball.
25:58Ten minutes from Penns.
26:02The German are in here.
26:04Chance!
26:05Off the bar!
26:08And it's a second opportunity for Lewis Fyfe.
26:14And that goal frame's still shaking, James.
26:17Yeah, there's a better chance for the game.
26:20You might get another opportunity here, but it's sliced and...
26:24Well, twice, Lucas Fyfe, who's just 17, has had a chance to potentially send Dunfermline into the Scottish Cup Final.
26:35Hasn't taken either of them.
26:37No, but you can see why, you know, when he's put the faith in him.
26:40Because he's been in the position to get those opportunities.
26:44It's brilliant from Andrew Todd initially.
26:46Oh, the Booth making the run inside him.
26:48He thinks he's scored.
26:50There's no doubt, he thinks he's scored.
26:55He certainly had an impact.
27:00And Dunfermline has sprung to life here.
27:06Kearney.
27:09Two waiting in the middle.
27:12And both went to the near post.
27:20That is two serious warning shots fired across the boughs of Falkert, though, over the last few minutes.
27:27Yeah.
27:28I mean, you look at the chances in the game.
27:30Dunfermline have had the three best by a distance.
27:33And, you know, you could argue that all three of them should be goals.
27:39But, I like to see it, you know, 17-year-old coming into the team in a game of this
27:44size.
27:45And getting those opportunities.
27:48I think that's the beauty when you're young, that you can just go and go again.
27:52And make sure you go again.
27:53And I'd always say, I'll get another chance and I'll put that one away.
27:58Makes you a good recent experience of it, having scored that equaliser against Erdoganians the other night.
28:03With five minutes of the 90 to play.
28:06Lucas Fyfe.
28:09Gonna get another chance.
28:15There's Greyhound, nice touch back.
28:17It's Ross.
28:18And Oxfrapp, finally, is a save to make.
28:21115 minutes into it.
28:24Yeah, good play, Brian Greer.
28:27Little lay-off.
28:28To Ethan Ross.
28:30And the deflection.
28:31I actually thought when he hit it, that Aston Oxfrapp had made it look better than what it was.
28:35But the deflection is the reason why.
28:42She just played 15 minutes.
28:49Ethan Ross with the ball on the header from Graham.
28:57This has been the best period of the game.
29:01He's just too far beyond the near post there to get enough on it, Brian Graham.
29:09To get the direction anyway, certainly gets some power behind it.
29:12to get the ball on the spot.
29:19Chances at both ends.
29:29Lucas Fyfe there.
29:34He turned 17.
29:37last month, he was one month old when these two did battle the last time in the Scottish
29:44Cup right here in the 2009 semi-finals. Falkirk went on to lose to Rangers in that showpiece.
29:56Cartwright dillying on the goal, and that'll be another yellow, it's a standard general
30:01card it is.
30:05Defensively Falkirk have been rocked. Absolutely, I think you look at Andrew Todd as well, he's
30:11getting stronger as the game's going on, you know it's him initially that wins the ball
30:15off the Cartwright, then Lucas Fyfe just stepping inside him, he's definitely been given a lift
30:24and he's found energy from somewhere. The Pars fancy this. Josh Cooper over the free kick.
30:45Championship side looking to the noses in front right at the end.
30:54Falkirk might be able to spring them on the counter, the Parkinson brilliant, it looked like a good
30:58challenge by Inguenna, but John Beatton's got the card out for him as well. The one thing you would say,
31:03even if it is a yellow card, even if it is a foul, is that it is completely slimy, that
31:09Falkirk attack.
31:09Yeah, I must say, initially I thought it was a good challenge, but there's no complaints yet.
31:15But you're right, he's stopping the attack, that's the yellow you're happy to take. It's great recovery from Inguenna to
31:23get back into that position.
31:35The final few minutes.
31:41He's got away.
31:44And Andrew Todd.
31:47Gilmore.
31:51That's going to be too much of Todd this time, Haynes slices, in his fourth Scotland captain
32:01that recent friendly against the Ivory Coast in Liverpool, playing the second half.
32:11The resurrection of an international career that looked to have long gone, could be off
32:17to the World Cup Finals in a couple of months' time.
32:28I think as things stand, they're going to put on another minute at the end of this stoppages.
32:37So, four minutes away from a penalty shootout, and all the drama that goes with it.
32:44Four minutes to get a winner, certainly both teams looking for it.
32:55Given the attacking talent both squads have, it's quite surprising that it was such a cagey game.
33:01A few opportunities.
33:09Lisa.
33:18Falkert trying to hunt down a place in the final.
33:24Goodbye, Nguena.
33:45We've become embroiled.
33:47The prize remains the same.
33:57As it was for me.
34:02Certainic two and a half hours of it.
34:04Neil Lennon is furious.
34:31We always hear managers after penalty shootouts that they've lost, they say it's a lottery.
34:36Managers who have one penalty shootout say it's not by accident that they've managed to come out and talk.
34:44Will it get that far? Here's Ross. Blocked by Nguena. An excellent game, Kieran Nguena.
34:53You can see why he has suitors. He'll really get a chance at Aberdeen, spent a lot of time out
35:00on loan.
35:05It's a solid back three, isn't it? Nguena's been excellent.
35:10Easy, Scott Bain. Andre Todd with a slap of his hands in frustration.
35:17He didn't take advantage of that nonchalance from Bain as we go into one minute of additional time.
35:25And that is it. Cartwright goes down! He's going to be picked for diving here!
35:35And he's been shown a second and ordered off.
35:43Simulation is the call by John Beaton. And the VAR team are happy with it.
35:50He's so quick to make the decision, John Beaton. It must have been clear for him.
35:54And I have to say it looked theatrical from here. It's difficult to tell because Nguena's in between us and
36:01Cartwright.
36:03John Beaton was so decisive. And that's exactly why I think he's expecting contact.
36:14But it's a brilliant decision, you have to say. Because that's a dive.
36:22It looks terrible when you see it from that angle. It's not going to cost Falkirk because the game of
36:27football is over.
36:29And this first Scottish Cup semi-final will be settled on penalties between these two great rivals.
36:39They both came to life in that second period of extra time.
36:44And we saw Lucas Fyfe there with two glorious chances to spare his supporters.
36:53These penalties are very much in their future now.
36:59Falkirk, few chances in the game. Ethan Ross managed to test.
37:04Aston Oxford late on there. But nowhere near as many chances in front of goal as John McGill-Lynn would
37:14have liked.
37:15After extra time then. With penalties to come. Stunferman Athletic, Nell Falkirk, Nell.
37:24It's been a hard, hard fought match, guys. And I tell you what, that last 15 minutes of extra time
37:30there.
37:30There was more goal-mouth action than there was pretty much in the whole match that came to life.
37:35It was the best part of the game. Whether it was just both sides eventually taking the shackles off
37:40and being more comfortable with the idea and the prospect of winning the ties.
37:43As opposed to the fear of losing it, which was what a whole part of the game felt like.
37:47But real entertainment. A galvanising second half performance into extra time from Dunfermline especially.
37:54At one point I thought they were out of it. But they rallied really well.
37:58The changes and the enthusiasm in terms of the youthfulness that's come into the game.
38:02It's been outstanding from them. And Falkirk have had a couple of moments.
38:07Young player. And he had two, well, the two best chances of the match, you've got to say.
38:13Yeah, 100%. Look, brings energy on. He does unbelievable here.
38:17He gets a little bit lucky, but chops inside him. Look, I think.
38:21Maybe he's read him, but he's got a lot more time than he actually thinks he has.
38:25But he's done really, really well fighting.
38:27He's just trying to find that far corner, but he doesn't quite get the shape on it.
38:31And even here, like it, Hamilton's came on and won so many second balls in the middle of the park.
38:37And that little bit of pace, good quality there. It's just a little bit behind Fife.
38:41If you can see him, you can see him stretching a little bit behind, trying to drag it.
38:45And like...
38:46He's so unlucky.
38:47Oh, I mean...
38:48I loved the wee man to score there. Imagine his celebration.
38:50What a moment that could have been. I mean, it's difficult that when it's just behind him as he goes
38:54to strike it.
38:54And he still catches it too well. I think if it comes off his boot and he scuffs it, it
38:59probably ends up in the back of the net.
39:01But he manages to get a full boot behind it, and that's why it's just lifting towards the goal.
39:05But it would have been an unbelievable moment for him.
39:07But he's been great since he came on.
39:09Scott's right. I think Hamilton, the middle of the pitch for them, Firmland, just turning moments over,
39:14realising the game and where it's at, not taking chances, but allowing them, Firmland, to play in the front foot.
39:19In Falkirk, look, they've huffed and puffed all afternoon, but I actually think they find themselves really lucky
39:23that they've now got a chance to take this to penalties to get themselves into a final.
39:28OK, well, here we go. One of these teams is heading to the Scottish Cup final.
39:31Let's find out who with Liam and James.
39:36Always dramatic. Always nerve-wracking. If you've got a vested interest.
39:43We saw Falkirk picture-perfect from the spot against Hearts in the fourth round.
39:50Excellent in that shootout.
39:53And Firmland have lost their last three penalty shootouts in the Scottish Cup.
39:59To Partick Thistle last season, Morton in 2021 and Hamilton in 2017.
40:05Their last shootout victory was against Aberdeen in the quarterfinals in 2009 after a Pataudry replay.
40:13They beat the Dons in the quarters this season as well.
40:22Before going on to lose to Falkirk in 2009.
40:27They will be taken at the Falkirk end.
40:32How big an advantage will that be? The fans off to the left.
40:36Not directly behind the goal though.
40:39Some are trying to get as central to the goal frame as they can.
40:45But this right now is in the lap of the gods.
40:49And Brad Spencer is going to go first.
40:53Not only have they been taken at the Falkirk end in the East Stand.
40:57The Bairns get to take first.
41:03The Falkirk captain this afternoon.
41:06The son of John Spencer, former Scotland international.
41:14And it's a big, big miss.
41:16And it is a big, big advantage for Dunfermline Athletic.
41:23That sure is.
41:25Not looked like he connected well.
41:27Brad Spencer is going right in that top corner.
41:31It's going to be absolutely perfect.
41:33Good enough connection but crashing off the post.
41:45Dunfermline looking to take full advantage of that.
41:50And they have done.
41:51Josh Cooper, decisive.
41:531-0 Dunfermline.
41:58What a penalty this is.
42:00He just opens a foot up.
42:02High.
42:03He actually dives past it, Scott Bain.
42:07The height is what beats him.
42:11It's going to be Liam Henderson up next for Falkirk.
42:16And even this early in the shootout, he can ill afford to miss.
42:23Up against Aston Oxford.
42:25It's Henderson.
42:26And that's Pierre.
42:30And Dunfermline have a grip on the shootout.
42:39Strong hand from Aston Oxford down to his left-hand side.
42:43That's a brilliant save.
42:45He's hit that with power.
42:46It's going into the corner.
42:49Excellent save for the big goalkeeper.
42:53And he's still going to get there on the stretch.
42:55And he did.
42:57Charlie Gilmour looking to put the powers to up here.
43:05Which he does!
43:09They are getting so, so close now.
43:16Is it written in the stars for Neil Lennon?
43:19An eight-time winner.
43:22He could come up against Martin O'Neill, of course.
43:26Should Celtic beat St Mirren tomorrow.
43:32It's a long way back for Falkirk now.
43:37Ben Parkinson.
43:43Falkirk in a hole.
43:48Oh, it's snuck in!
43:52And it sneaks under Oxbrook.
43:55And keeps Falkirk alive.
43:58I guess he's the right way.
44:00Once again, that's an Oxbrook.
44:03Goes early.
44:05Just squirms under his body.
44:08Don't really like Ben Parkinson.
44:17Chris Hamilton then.
44:19For Dunfermline.
44:20Gets them closer!
44:26The pressure is at it's hottest.
44:29And Dunfermline have been cool as you like.
44:36He just smashes it.
44:38Trying to go down the middle.
44:39Bain does go the right way.
44:41He goes early.
44:41Just can't keep it out.
44:42All about the power there.
44:51For Falkirk.
44:52Look at the piece.
44:52It has to score.
44:56For Falkirk.
44:58He has done.
45:00It's not over yet.
45:03Not quite.
45:07Given the pressure it's on it.
45:09It's such a cool penalty.
45:10With a little stutter and roll.
45:12In the opposite corner.
45:14Oxford dives into it.
45:19It's kept them alive.
45:23This is a chance.
45:25To send Dunfermline into the 2026 Scottish Cup Final for Tashan Oakley Booth.
45:34To eliminate a third Premiership side this season.
45:40It is incredible!
45:43Dunfermline Athletic Scottish Cup Finalists!
45:52The emotion etched all over the face of Neil Lennon.
45:58The eight time winner.
46:01Has helped guide Championship Dunfermline.
46:05To one of their greatest results in the end.
46:09Against their great rivals Falkirk.
46:12The top line team.
46:15Had no answer.
46:16And perhaps could have no complaints.
46:19To this huge opportunity.
46:22Which has evaporated at the hands.
46:26Of one of their greatest rivals.
46:32Dunfermline were superb from the spot.
46:36Spencer and Henderson failed.
46:39Cooper.
46:40Gilmore.
46:41Both setting things up before Hamilton.
46:46And Oakley Booth completed the job.
46:50To the delight of all those who have done Fairland.
46:55In their heart.
46:56Including Jim Leishman who he saw.
46:59Just a moment ago.
47:03They've beaten Hedges.
47:05They've beaten Aberdeen.
47:07They have beaten Falkirk.
47:10This is no accident.
47:16And after a game of few opportunities.
47:21It is Dunfermline on penalties.
47:27As they win the shootout 4-2.
47:32And they will take on Celtic.
47:34Or St Mirren.
47:36In next month's final.
47:39And while Saints will have a big say.
47:42We just wonder if it's written in the stars.
47:44That it will be Lennon against O'Neill.
47:47Back here next month.
47:49St Mirren will hope that isn't the case.
47:52But it's a huge story here.
47:56Because Neil Lennon is back in the Scottish Cup final.
48:00And I'm sure there were times when he thought it would never happen again.
48:04Over the course of the last few years.
48:07John McLennan has to turn his attention to the top six.
48:11That's all they've got left now.
48:14But the dream is very much on.
48:18Because that is what it is.
48:20It is a dream.
48:22Will it become reality?
48:24We shall see.
48:25It finished here.
48:26After extra time.
48:29Dunfermline Athletic 0.
48:31Falkirk 0.
48:32With the pars going through 4-2 in the shootout.
48:38Massive.
