00:00Well around 15 miles separate on Fermlin and Falkirk on either side of the 4th, they have more localised rivalries
00:15Okay well this is why you become a footballer and what you live for as a fan it's time to
00:20see
00:20who'll be back here next month in the final with James McPadden and Liam McLeod
00:26Well around 15 miles separate on Fermlin and Falkirk on either side of the 4th, they have more localised rivalries
00:35in the central lowlands in the kingdom of five
00:38but this fixture has long had an edge to it as it returns to Hampden for the first time in
00:4517 years
00:49The powers have swept Big Fish's Ivernian and holders Aberdeen aside en route to their eighth Scottish Cup semi-final
00:58if they are to get to a sixth final they're going to have to overcome one of the stories of
01:02the season
01:03in John McGlynn's Bairns who have guaranteed themselves their highest league placing since 1995
01:09after what has been an outstanding return to the top table
01:15Falkirk last lifted the trophy in 1957 and there's an argument that they won't have a better chance
01:21of ending an almost 70-year wait to win it with an out-of-sort Celtic
01:25are League Cup winners but relegation threatens St Mirren
01:29awaiting they or the powers in next month's showpiece
01:34legendary status is on the line
01:40well Neil Lennon rested most of his team for the comeback draw with Eardrionians on Tuesday
01:46with that 11 very close to the team that started against Aberdeen in the quarters
01:50Andrew Todd is their top scorer with 16 goals
01:53Kane's on 10, there's no Oli Thomas who scored two of their three against the holders
01:58he injured a thigh muscle against Wraith Rovers and has been back at fair in club Bristol City
02:03receiving treatment local boy and Dunfermline fan Matty Todd was superb against Aberdeen and it was he who set them
02:11on their way
02:16Captain Donaldson and Keelan Adams drop out of the Falkirk team that threw away a 2-0 lead against Rangers
02:22last week
02:23before the floodgates opened Conor Allen plays for the first time since the defeat at Hearts in February
02:29and Leon McCann also returns Barney Stewart scored eight times on loan at East End Park earlier this season
02:35and that set the tone for his blistering return to the Bairns where he has scored 10 times in 16
02:42appearances
02:48well twice Scottish Cup final referee John Beaton will preside over things on the pitch with
02:53Andrew Dallas and Greg Aitken supporting him on fire this afternoon
03:05what a season it's been for Calvin Miller who is one of five starters
03:12for Falkirk this afternoon who started a 2-2 draw with Kelty Hearts in League One two years ago
03:19and a huge bonus for Dunfermline of Jeremiah Chiloko and Mullen and Andrew Todd available given they were big doubts
03:34in the Glasgow sunshine a place in the 2026 Scottish Cup final is at stake
03:41Can eight-time winner Neil Lennon do what Jochstein and George Farne did in the 1960s and take the trophy
03:47back to five
03:47or can John McGlynn who was assistant at Hearts when they won it in 2006
03:53cap a dream season back in the top flight by securing silverware and the prize of European football that comes
04:00with it
04:01James McFadden yeah well Falkirk what a story it's been what a job John McGlynn has done at the club
04:07to bring them from League One into the Premiership to get that top six finish in the Scottish Cup semi
04:12-final
04:13I mean the Falkirk fans will be in dreamland but it could get so much better for them this season
04:18against a young hungry Dunfermline side led by Neil Lennon
04:22another team that are on the on the way up and this is the tie I was looking forward to
04:27the most before
04:27the draw this was the tie I wanted two teams of fan bases that really don't like each other but
04:34two young
04:34exciting teams that have plenty to be excited about and hopefully they serve up a treat for us this afternoon
04:43over the course of the last eight championship matches only St Johnston who look champions elect in
04:50the championship have collected more points than Dunfermline athletic so they're in a good place
04:56now the side from the rung below but it's two clubs that were wallowing in the Scottish football
05:04doldrums for far too long massive football clubs huge followings
05:10as James says this is certainly a fixture to wet the appetite and
05:16Neil Lennon knows what it takes to lift the Scottish Cup four times as a player four times as a
05:22manager
05:24and to 2001 was his first Scottish Cup lift
05:31who will settle the quicker
05:50that's a huge opportunity early for him as you say former Falkirk man I thought he may well have been
05:56offside but it looks like he's timed that run perfectly
05:59and normally so composed in front of goal they've been a dream start for them
06:02because I'm pretty sure the Falkirk fans will be letting them know what they think of
06:09almost a dream start for Dunfermline
06:13Callum Morrison was a huge part of the Falkirk team that won the league one title two years ago
06:21massive player for them that campaign and was for quite some time
06:30went away to Linfield after leaving Falkirk and Dunfermline in the winter window
06:37suspended for the quarter final against Aberdeen but
06:41that is a glorious opportunity you have to ask even just three minutes into this that came after two
06:47will he get a bigger one than that today
06:49you would expect the way the Falkirk play and certainly with Chris Kane being that focal point
06:54that he will get opportunities but it is a dream opportunity in such a huge game
07:01just shows you that they've got a chance to get in behind that Falkirk backline
07:06where we know they're going to be aggressive they're going to play high
07:09Callum Morrison definitely has the speed to exploit it
07:14it's a sore one for Liam Henderson and Chiloko Mullen the power skipper
07:20still high up the pitch but there's the opportunity for Morrison
07:25I have to say I was expecting just to drive it for that far bottom corner
07:28yeah I mean as I said you mentioned this season Falkirk in league one
07:33he was the goal threat for them I'm sure he'd have been playing this that moment over and over
07:39in his mind hoping for an opportunity like that to get it so early you just expect him to find
07:44the
07:44back of the net but I don't think it will deter him he'll keep going I think he'll take it
07:48as a positive
07:49that he can get opportunities in the game
07:53feel of the ball for Cornyn Allen there here's
07:56Jake to his walk down as well but already the Furman are leaving their mark on the semi-final
08:09they've been on the rise and indeed both clubs have been researching
08:19this is Philip Lisa for Falkirk
08:22it's been another excellent addition to this Falkirk team as I mentioned
08:30earlier five of the starters started that league one game two years ago it's
08:34Kelty hearts Henderson Spencer Tate Yates and Miller all starting at Hampden today
08:42indeed Callum Morris who didn't miss that glorious opening there
08:47started for Falkirk that afternoon as well
08:49Liam Henderson's been in the wars early on here yeah the ball's in the air Chris Kane just
08:54puts his arm back as he's jumping for the ball catches him square in the jaw
09:03the life of a centre-back yeah it's something that Chris Kane enjoys that physical side of the game
09:11loves this competition loves both competitions
09:16as Chris Kane we started both cup finals for St Johnston five years ago he won the double
09:26I think I think there'll be people watching saying you know Chris Kane's throw his arm back and
09:31should maybe have you know been a bit stronger from John Beaton but I think he's using his leverage
09:36there's a little nudge on him from Brad Spencer just in front it's just a natural action to use your
09:42arm to
09:43get up sort one for Liam Henderson but I think that's a right call it's a fill no more
09:50the brightest of starts by Dunfermline he started like a bullet train against Aberdeen in the last round
10:00drove on from there Morrison losing out
10:05Favadi battling for it as well
10:13relax
10:18just calming everyone down
10:21it's very unlike Neil Lennon
10:23I like him doing all the funny the character is but when you look at the young players that he
10:28has
10:29It is more about being relaxed and not getting too excitable, but certainly it won't be relaxing and don't put
10:37any effort in.
10:41Do as I say, not do as I do.
10:44Yes, very much so.
10:54He's done well, he's had to really rebuild throughout the season as Neil Lennon, a very different squad from the
11:03one that started the campaign, the League Cup groups.
11:06They lost heavily at Hearts early in the season, indeed in the opening weekend back in July.
11:14He's been building blocks in across the campaign, the two windows.
11:32The powers have started the better.
11:36Robbie Fraser over there on the left.
11:41Is it Denguena and then Amade?
11:46Denguena looking for Kane.
11:50Still brilliant there.
11:56Superb.
11:56Just like if he's boxed in.
11:57Yeah, it did.
11:58He took a heavy touch and it looked like it was going to run away from him.
12:01Managed to get turned, little nutmeg.
12:03It's a good striker play.
12:04Of course, Neil Lennon and the first game they preferred that was higher up the pitch.
12:08But when you're playing as a lone striker, your job is to get hold of the ball, make sure you
12:13can get your team up the pitch.
12:26Both teams have earned their places in the semi-final.
12:31There's a look on Mullen here, just...
12:34I hope I did it a bit.
12:35John McLean, by the way, is furious down in the touchline.
12:38He is not happy with the start his team's made.
12:40Matty Todd across and Kane catches fresh air only.
12:45I thought he should have taken the touch there.
12:48That is a nice pass into the path of Chris Kane, but...
12:52Need to get that absolute spot on, maybe take the touch.
12:55Certainly because of the angles beyond that front post.
13:04They made a superb start against Rangers last week.
13:07Falkirk, they've been under the thumb in the opening ten here.
13:12And there's one for Barney Stewart to chase.
13:14First field of the ball for the big striker.
13:17The informed striker in the country in the top flight.
13:21No free kicks is John Beaton.
13:27It is this time when Ophir Falkirk would have liked it to have been.
13:32Menbroggio on the far side.
13:51He's eyeing up a fourth PFA Manager of the Year accolade.
13:56It's John McGlynn.
13:57Very much in that conversation.
14:01Nobody before has won it three times.
14:04He's looking for a fourth.
14:17Dillon Tate.
14:19Falkirk, a period of calm in the game.
14:22Broggio out to Lisa.
14:27Falkirk, a field foul by Andy Todd.
14:37It's the eldest son of Andrew Senior.
14:40He played over 300 league games for Dunferman.
14:43Yeah, Lisa's just trying to drive forward.
14:45And they are being aggressive in the press, Dunferman.
14:49And maybe that's why Falkirk haven't been able to settle.
14:52They've gone man for man at the back.
14:53With that back three.
14:54Being brave and stepping in.
14:56To a dangerous Falkirk front three.
14:58Which allows them to then go and get the press on.
15:04Andrew's younger brother John amongst the Dunferman subs.
15:18We've seen some magnificent Scottish Cup semi-finals down the years.
15:23In relatively recent times Falkirk were involved in one of those.
15:26Remember there was one weekend where both finished 4-3.
15:29Falkirk were on the receiving end against Thames.
15:34Seldi beat Dundee United the following day.
15:36But the same scoreline.
15:38And took a very special Lee Griffiths goal to beat Falkirk that afternoon.
15:50A few years ago was a League One team beaten by Callie Thistle.
16:05Calvin Miller there trying to hold the ball up. Hasn't had a kick yet.
16:12He is key for Falkirk.
16:15Yeah he is. He's had a tremendous season.
16:18I'm looking forward to seeing him up against Chillicothe Mullen.
16:21Because he's another young player with a massive future ahead of him.
16:25And you can see when it does come into Calvin Miller he's happy to go and get tight.
16:29He's playing as the right centre-back. He's happy to step into that area.
16:33So that is a battle. I'm looking forward to seeing how that develops throughout the game.
16:58Still a good chance this could be a Premiership fixture next season.
17:03Very much in the mix when it comes to the promotion playoffs.
17:10Big championship games coming up later today.
17:13Full coverage on BBC Radio Scotland of that.
17:18Once the semi-final is done and dusted.
17:21Part of this will go to Airdrie, our Broth host Wraith knowing a home win would secure a playoff place.
17:30Par's very hopeful that they can finish above our Broth.
17:35Having gone above them with that comeback draw the other night against Airdrie.
17:45And actually play that game in hand against St Johnston on Tuesday evening.
17:50Rearranged fixture.
17:52The title could be done and dusted in the next few days.
17:55But the shake-up.
17:58And the jostling for permission.
18:02The position for the playoffs still alive.
18:04Third and fourth.
18:07Finish third you get the second leg of the quarter-final at home and that could be massive.
18:13Betton Fernland would rather be playing our Broth at East End Park in leg two of that rather than Gayfield.
18:20Yeah, it's still plenty of play for.
18:21I know that people can look at it and say well the playoff positions are more or less settled.
18:29But it is a big difference.
18:31Neil Lennon speaking about the fixtures they've had to play.
18:35And they'll want to make that as easy as they can.
18:38Not that it's going to be easy.
18:39Because at a Broth have shown this season what a good side they are as well.
18:47Yeah, it's still part-time, it's remarkable.
18:53Kane with the flick.
18:56Donelson's not going to get on to that.
19:04A little bit chest-like at the moment, a bit stop-start.
19:13Brad Spencer with the armband again, called Donaldson, ruled out with injuries.
19:17It's been a terrible season of injuries for Donaldson, the Fulker club captain who did.
19:24A brief return last week.
19:27Starting eleven.
19:33Proggio, brilliantly done.
19:36Lisa's after it and he's been hauled to the deck.
19:44Kwanzaa, July scything through Proggio.
19:48Yeah, I mean, Fulker struggled to get control in the game.
19:53They certainly got into the rhythm because of the pressure of the fairman.
19:56But this is what they can bring.
19:58The ball out to Lisa, the one-two.
20:00If you're just a split second too late in the first challenge, then it creates the space.
20:05Lisa Abdelhaj's got over to try and make up for Fraser getting caught out.
20:10I mean, it's a foul all day long.
20:12It's rash.
20:13It's excellent from Lisa.
20:16I said Proggio, it was Fulker Lisa.
20:19It was still...
20:20I was still in my head waxing about Proggio's lovely lay-off that got Fulker Lisa in.
20:27He, as I said, on loan from Swansea's been excellent.
20:31He's utilised the load market really well John McGlynn this season.
20:35He's utilised every market really well.
20:42So, Miller and Spencer.
20:45It is Miller.
20:47It is Lisa!
20:52He's always on the stretch, Lisa, but he's in space.
20:55He gets up really early.
20:58Hang time from him.
21:00Dangerous delivery.
21:02See the space he's in.
21:03He just goes up a little bit too early.
21:10And that'll give Fulker a lift.
21:11The fact of beating the press, got themselves in a dangerous area.
21:17Encourage them to keep doing it.
21:19It's a warning for the fairman if you go and press, make sure you go at the right time, make
21:24sure you do it right.
21:25As this Fulker side will exploit you.
21:27Look at the speed that they have all over the, particularly in the wide areas, for them.
21:33Here's Andrew Todd, for Morrison on the other side.
21:41And the Fulker fans revising the opportunity to be late.
21:46Callum Morrison, the man they used to cheer on in the stands.
21:54It's just an over-hit cross, good play from the fairman down the right-hand side.
21:58I think it's the right idea from Andrew Todd to just stand that up to the back post, just over
22:01-hits it.
22:02Callum Morrison just running out the pitch to the delight of those Fulker fans that he's right in front of.
22:37That's very close.
22:39Take by Lisa, and now Brodhiel, against Nguenna, he's fed it to Lisa, and then Mr Oxford wasn't sure, so
22:53he's tipped it over, and Falkirk up there first corner.
22:56Yeah, certainly the out ball for Falkirk, a little clip to Lisa again, Robbie Fraser just that little bit off,
23:03allows Falkirk to get down the right-hand side, Oxford are not taking any chances, a little deflection on the
23:09cross, but certainly it seems to be the avenue for Falkirk to go and exploit.
23:17Dylan Take was out to Take.
23:27Short for Miller, teasing ball in and then lapsed over the back, edge of the box by Spencer.
23:38Right, it's a great ball in, defended well, just expecting that to come in, trying to disrupt the Furman back
23:45line.
23:47Brad Spencer's got the technique to get the target from there, just leaning back.
23:56It's a better period for Falkirk.
24:06A few of those Falkirk players have experience of playing here, having been in the side that faced Cali Thistle
24:13three years ago.
24:17Henderson, McCann, Yates all started today, it started that day.
24:25Miller, for Stewart, and Nguena's there, mop-up.
24:31He's been linked to the few clubs including Motherwell during the week, it's Keenan and Nguena.
24:40Yeah, another one, I think you go through that, the Furman side and the performance levels from every player has
24:47been outstanding, it's no wonder that there's interest in them.
24:53There's been a lot of standout performers in the championship this season, you think of Josh McPake at St Johnston,
24:58Findlay Marshall at our growth.
24:59Andrew Todd here, we are watching today, Ben Stanway at Partick Thistle.
25:08There are others.
25:20Yeah, the PFA Scotland teams were announced yesterday, it seems to be coming earlier every season, it's just the middle
25:29of April.
25:32The season's nearly done, Liam.
25:36Are you trying to pick man of the match at half-time?
25:38No, don't start, don't start.
25:39No, you'll love it.
25:41You'll love it.
25:45It's not easy.
25:58It's a far better accolade to be voted by your peers than we picked man of the match then.
26:04No!
26:04No!
26:08No!
26:09No!
26:17No!
26:18No!
26:19No!
26:19No!
26:19No!
26:20No!
26:20No!
26:22No!
26:23No!
26:24No!
26:26A huge opportunity for these two clubs, isn't it?
26:28I mentioned it right at the start that it was Scott Bale who takes his time.
26:33Tate was caught there, the play on but a little bit of a let off for Scott Payne on that
26:39occasion.
26:40It's a big let off, far too long. On the ball, Todd's up himself in the goal seats.
26:50And Andrew Todd is down.
26:53But we're seeing there right at the start, St Mirren won the League Cup.
26:58You'd take 10th on a trophy, I think, for a club at St Mirren every single season.
27:02They are still in a relegation battle, looking decent under Craig McLeish,
27:07but both these teams would fancy their chances against St Mirren
27:10and we know that this is not the all-conquering, all-powerful Celtic that we've become used to seeing.
27:17Yeah, I'm pretty sure that neither sets of players, manager, has looked beyond this game.
27:23I think they look at what's in front of them and say, you know, they both deserve to be here,
27:27absolutely.
27:27And they both obviously get a chance, first and foremost, to get to a final.
27:31But I believe they'll absolutely be there, that they can go and, you know,
27:37dream scenario to lift the Scottish Cup.
27:39I think if you'd offered both of them at the start of the season,
27:42and say, you're going to be in the semi-final, you're going to be playing against you,
27:45they're better rivals to get to the final, absolutely.
27:48Dreamland is just the place they're in, but they're here, so they're absolutely in it to win it.
27:57That's Lisa.
28:00Flick away by Matty Todd.
28:03Miller's on to it.
28:07And it's the corner.
28:10And he's got eight goals this season, Calvin Miller.
28:14Most recent, the penalty conversion against Rangers last week.
28:17He's got eight assists as well.
28:21Huge player for this Bayern side.
28:34Out-swinging corner from Calvin Miller.
28:42Important header away.
28:48Fantastic finish here, Matty Todd, to open the scoring against Aberdeen in the quarters.
28:57Stewart.
29:00New by Anguena.
29:05Penunder from Tate.
29:06Here's Miller.
29:10That's well defended.
29:12Chiloko Amal and again demonstrating.
29:15He is a crucial cog in Neil Lennon's starting eleven.
29:21Massive bonus to have him available for this one because it didn't look likely at one point.
29:26He was talking about it after last weekend.
29:32Yeah, it's huge to have him in the team.
29:34I think that when you look at Matty Todd, he's got a lot of the headlines this season.
29:38And rightly so, for the goals he's scored, the impact he's had on the team.
29:43Chiloko Amal is so powerful.
29:46He said it earlier that he will go on.
29:47Fantastic career.
29:49What a good course to learn in trade as well.
29:52Under a manager.
29:55Neil Lennon.
29:58He sounded pretty downbeat about their chances of playing today.
30:03After the defeat of Arctic Thistle.
30:06Elsewhere in this city.
30:08Last weekend.
30:10That they're only defeating the last ten.
30:18This promotion push.
30:30The second semi-final tomorrow.
30:33Celtic.
30:34They've won it more than anyone else.
30:35Take on St Mirren.
30:37They haven't won it since 1987.
30:40In fact, that was the last time they were in the final.
30:43Live on sports out.
30:44BBC Radio Scotland tomorrow.
30:47You get highlights of it tomorrow.
30:497.15 on the BBC Scotland channel.
30:54Always a special weekend this.
31:02Cimaran already have the League Cup in the bag, of course.
31:07Chris Cain out there.
31:09He's a member of that exclusive club.
31:12The Celtic Rangers, Aberdeen, St Johnstone have achieved it.
31:18Obviously for Aberdeen and St Johnstone in particular.
31:22I feel it's a very special thing to do.
31:30Find out if lightning strikes twice tomorrow.
31:35Little dick towards Finn Yates.
31:41McCann.
31:42Lovely ball.
31:43And the header is straight at Oxford.
31:46From Stewart.
31:48Fairly tame.
31:49It's the first real sight of goal that he's had in 28 minutes in.
31:56Bit defending from Brogio there.
31:59Probably thought he was going to get away from him.
32:05Oh, Stewart did get the flick.
32:08It's the nipper ahead of Oxford.
32:13Intervention by Cain.
32:16They look more like themselves now, Falker.
32:19Barney Stewart with that early opportunity.
32:21He's just fighting with Abdoulaye to get the space.
32:23And then he just can't get the power on the header.
32:27Liam McCann.
32:29Calmly dealt with that time by Abdoulaye.
32:39What a story it's been for Barney Stewart.
32:41The fact that he's in the possible World Cup shout is testament to his campaign.
32:49Yeah, he's got a lot to thank.
32:51He's got a lot to thank.
32:51Me wearing and the filming for.
32:52Yeah.
32:53But his earlier performances in the season.
32:56The thing is, he had a bad foot injury.
32:59Didn't he have a metatarsal injury last summer?
33:02Falkirk.
33:03Could well have set him back, but Falkirk shipped him out to Dunfermline.
33:09What a fabulous loan spell it was.
33:11Eight goals scored there.
33:15Eight goals and twelve appearances for Dunfermline Athletic.
33:19And he has hit the ground running on his return to Falkirk.
33:23As we know.
33:25It's a tremendous story.
33:27He just seems to improve week on week.
33:29And you can see his attributes, you know, his size, his speed.
33:32The goals he scores are goals you want your striker to score.
33:35But his attitude for me is absolutely outstanding.
33:38You can tell how much he's enjoying being a football player,
33:42playing at Falkirk.
33:43Going out to Dunfermline and having a loan spell doing really well.
33:47His attitude for me is really, really impressive.
33:53Could have played tennis.
33:54Could have played Gaelic football as well by all accounts.
33:58Can it be, sir?
34:00Nice.
34:02Too much on that.
34:03Way too much.
34:08After a difficult opening ten minutes, Falkirk seemed to have
34:12a bit of control on proceedings.
34:16Yeah, I think a lot is made of Falkirk's wide men.
34:20And rightly so, Calvin Miller having an outstanding season.
34:22It's so important to the team of the full backs getting forward.
34:25And now they're getting space to go and get in areas where they can put
34:28crosses into the box and can cause problems and get that control in the game.
34:35There's McCann.
34:37Miller.
34:39Oh, and that went right through Abdelai.
34:48It's gone Falkirk's way.
35:03There's a little touch of the ball with Falkirk putting them under.
35:07Decent amount of pressure.
35:09When they win it back they just can't seem to keep it or get up the pitch.
35:12They spoke about the full backs getting involved in the game.
35:15Leon McCann getting forward.
35:18Fired across.
35:19I'm not sure it's there at the gamble, but just...
35:22Marshall do you have to say by Nguyen yet.
35:45That's the first time they've met in the Scottish Cup since the semis in 2009.
35:53Falkirk won that pretty comfortably.
35:55Scobie and Arfield with the goals.
36:04Misa.
36:06Tate.
36:07Gwena does enough.
36:12But again they just give it straight back to Falkirk.
36:14Can't get up the pitch on Furman at the minute.
36:22Neil Lennon standing hands and hips in the edge of his technical area there.
36:29A little bit concerned with the flow of this right now.
36:33It will be, but the message will be don't concede.
36:35You're going to have to accept it.
36:37Falkirk are going to have moments where they'll have pressure,
36:40they'll have possession, they'll force you into defending.
36:42It's important that you stand up to it.
36:47Proggio.
36:50The scoring against Rangers last Sunday.
36:55Set up by this man.
36:57No surprise.
37:01Proggio.
37:03Comfortable take for Oxford this time.
37:06The man on loan from Aston Villa has been a big impact in the second half of this season.
37:11It's recommended by John McGinn, his club mate at Villa Park.
37:19Stephen McGinn on the coaching staff at Falkirk of course.
37:26Stephen started the semi-final against Inverness here.
37:30Part of that Falkirk team.
37:42Miller.
37:48From the outside.
37:51By Abdoulaye.
37:54It's hard work for the Pars this right now.
37:59Norgio.
38:00Norgio's popped up over on the right again.
38:08Get away by Robbie Fraser.
38:19Kane.
38:20With a respite.
38:22We've done Fernland here.
38:23But Amadi gives it straight back to Falkirk.
38:25And it's McCann.
38:27Miller.
38:28Stewart getting into position in the middle.
38:32It's brilliantly done by Miller.
38:34And Amdoulaye block.
38:35Second chance.
38:38Lisa can't get there.
38:39Andri Todd does.
38:42Fettled by Kane but an advantage for Falkirk.
38:47Which they won't be able to do anything with.
38:52With overzealous from Chris Kane.
38:55John Beat might want a word with him.
38:56Yeah, he probably will.
38:58But even when Fernand are making fouls, Falkirk still have the ball.
39:01They're still able to attack.
39:02They just can't get any sort of control of the ball at the minute than Fernand.
39:07That's understanding.
39:09Dylan Tate looks it away and out comes the yellow for Kane.
39:16It's shocked absolutely no one.
39:19I mean he's saying he's gone for the ball, which he absolutely is.
39:21But he's so late.
39:23This Kane.
39:26That was a good challenge.
39:28Andri Todd, Kane's just a little bit late on Henderson.
39:35He joins Abdoulaye in the book.
39:51Yellow card is wiped after the quarter-finals these days of course.
40:01How often did you see players booked in semi-finals and they were then ruled out of showpiece events?
40:06That's such a great rule that they wiped out because you want the semi-finals to be competitive,
40:14you don't want anyone coming in thinking they can't make challenges or put everything on the line.
40:29And from Matty Todd, it's not the worst delivery either though.
40:34Gwenyann have Abdoulaye lost track of the ball.
40:50Tate.
40:53It's a lovely ball for Miller.
40:56No one in the middle yet though, Brogio and Stewart did arrive.
40:59He's managed to produce Funtuck's latest corner anyway.
41:03He's coming to the floor now, Calvin Miller getting that space.
41:08He's been working to get.
41:11I have to say, look, he's got himself free on a few occasions.
41:14They've actually defended the wide areas pretty well against them at times,
41:18or if the crosses come in and have managed to defend the crosses well.
41:30Disappointing delivery.
41:37McCann.
41:52There's Conor Allen.
41:55Precious little football recently.
41:57Scored that fabulous goal against Dundee.
42:00The late winner last October.
42:09Misa.
42:15There's Andre Todd.
42:17He was...
42:18Looked like he was tripped.
42:23Well, maybe...
42:24Mad Spencer got away with that one.
42:31He touched them well to try and keep this alive.
42:35Well, it's not pretty but...
42:37Confirming the match with it.
42:41Fraser...
42:43Scoops it to Andrew Todd on this near side.
42:50That was a battle.
42:53With plenty of those on show here.
42:56Again, John Beaton's letting things go on.
42:59Sandu Todd's ball.
43:00Cain with the thumbs up.
43:02But it's in Beaton's gloves.
43:03I tell you what, it's nearly magnificent.
43:06The spots that Chris Cain's making the run and knows that that's the area.
43:10He wants the ball to go in.
43:11But Allen and Henderson defend it really well.
43:13He'll balk the run from Chris Cain.
43:16I don't mind that at all from Andrew Todd.
43:55He's a young man but that's the kind of thing you put down to good experience.
43:58Yeah.
43:59I mean...
44:00And Barney Stewart, it's a poor foul to give away.
44:03A really silly one.
44:05Because it looked like...
44:06To the goal of Allen was going to just...
44:09Try and get one and a half turn spinning and try and...
44:12Put the ball out.
44:14It's a cheap foul to give away.
44:18They've lost their last three Scottish Cup finals of Falkirk.
44:25It's an ultimate slow, a little bit of 15 yards here for this week, eh?
44:32Yeah, that always seems to get a pass for some reason.
44:38Falkirk beat the final in 97, beat by Rangers in 09 by Cali Thistle in 2015.
44:45On their first one in 1913, won their second in 1957.
44:54Fairland too, looking to take the trophy back to the kingdom.
44:59First time in a long time.
45:09One of the big stories in Scottish football history in April 1961, when Jock Steen and
45:20his players beat Jimmy McRory's Celtic side, which had a few young future Elizabeth Lyons
45:25in it, like Billy McNeil, John Clarke, John Hughes and Stevie Chalmers.
45:31They're going to beat Hearts under George Farm in 68.
45:38That, indeed, was their last major honour.
45:54Well, that one is a foul.
45:59In fairness to John Beaton, he's been trying to let the game flow.
46:02Yeah, I don't think there's been any terrible challenges or ones where he's had to really intervene.
46:09I think they have their eyes early.
46:11I mean, it's all or nothing.
46:13But, yeah, he has tried to let it flow.
46:15Yes!
46:30.
46:51I don't know how many minutes left in the opening 45, it's a high boot, Charlie Gilmore
47:16It's accidental, but the left's always giving that.
47:20Yeah, absolutely, just nips in ahead of him, Dylan Tate.
47:37And he's on the can.
47:44On the sidestep by Ahmadi, Kane from Morrison, spurned that wonderful opportunity just a couple
47:52of minutes into the semi-final, can he affect things here?
47:58Caught by Henderson.
48:02He'll be desperate to start the second half so he can get in amongst the Fairmont fans,
48:07a way for these Falkirk fans.
48:12Yeah, the other half of the pitch will provide a real sanctuary for him.
48:17He's been getting it from the opening seconds, but he had that chance to silence the Bayerns
48:23with that opportunity in the early exchanges.
48:45See on Duncan Nicholson's board there, one minute added.
48:59Such a big weekend, Scottish semi-final weekend, Scottish Grand National weekend.
49:06World snooker getting underway as well.
49:12The crucible, Matty Todd for Ahmadi, Andrew Todd blocked by Allen and away.
49:24I just wondered if you thought about the short there, Andrew Todd when it came back to him,
49:28he's trying to just put it back in the area.
49:31I know the angle isn't great, but he's definitely got the ability.
49:38It's the time for one last chance. Morrison across.
49:43Calmly dealt with by Lisa and John Beaton brings to an end.
49:48A relatively entertaining first half, but a goalless first half.
49:52It's all eyes on Callum Morrison, who'll still be replaying that moment two minutes in
49:58when he was in on goal.
50:01And he lashed it wide at the left-hand side of the goal frame.
50:07Barney Stewart at a relatively tame header, comfortably dealt with by Aston Oxford
50:11up the other end.
50:13Not too many opportunities.
50:16Morrison's is the pick of the bunch.
50:19And he's still, I think, berating himself for not taking it.
50:26Big second half to come here at Hampden.
50:30As these two fight for the right to face Celtic or St. Merrin in next month's final.
50:34But it is goalless at the break at Hampden.
50:37The place is off of town.
50:39The place is off of town.
50:40The place is off of town.
50:40The place is off of town.
50:40The place is off of town.
50:40The place is off of town.
50:40The place is off of town.
50:40The place is off of town.
50:40The place is off of town.
