00:07hi i'm dj perry shane haggard and we're here to talk to you about harson's island revenge
00:15you're about ready to watch the making of a fine collection of behind the
00:20scenes footage taken from our journey shooting this movie
00:32we shot this in michigan of uh 2023 fall beautiful time of the year in a really unique place in
00:40michigan the northeast michigan uh in and around alpena uh we chose that location
00:47because harson's island is actually on the east side of the state alpena is on the east side of
00:51the state so they share some similar geography but alpena was a wonderful wonderful town to go
00:58into because of the community and all the buildings that they had that were still of the period
01:09harson's island revenge is a tale uh adapted from a book by carl makey also called harson's island
01:17revenge and it is about a conflict that takes place between world war one vets and the purple
01:24gang mob out of detroit who were controlling 80 of the liquor at the time in the united states since
01:31it was dry country not just a dry county at the time so this story is very interesting and it
01:38depicts
01:38some actual history of this purple gang uh controlling the liquor and uh these outdoors men's ex-soldiers
01:49trying to make a little extra money without having to pay the piper so to speak one thing you'll also
01:55notice the set pieces and the vehicles were were one of the big characters as well as some of the
02:01actors
02:02in it uh the the vehicles that we had were wonderfully restored by painstakingly restored by
02:08by true crafts people that love to preserve history love these films or love these vehicles
02:14and they're from the 1920s they are over 100 years old and each of them had their own personality they
02:20had names one was doc and then that that just goes to show how many people that worked on this
02:26picture
02:26we actually had boats that were used in bootlegging yeah i think i think people are going to enjoy that
02:32aspect of it as well yeah yeah a lot of research goes into all our all our talent and crafts
02:38people
02:39on on both sides of the camera do the homework and do diligence and try to make these pieces as
02:45authentic as possible within the realms of you know reality of what we got going on because you know
02:51it's hard to find things 100 years old so at cdi we we do pride ourself and go in the
02:57extra mile
02:58because period films are the hardest to do the hardest to bring is the hardest to um all pull
03:03together and still give the audience to be transported to another world so again you're going to see all
03:09those hard-working people both sides of the camera working together is one we don't have a lot of
03:14uh boundaries between our front of the camera behind the camera we're all one team one tribe of
03:20artists all with a similar goal and vision i think i think people are going to enjoy what we put
03:26together here when they see it at the end of this year we'll be doing a theatrical premiere and then
03:32a rollout and then it will go on to home video so this is your first look at it war
03:40is coming to
03:41a toss of diamond
03:51i swear that my mother's free i don't know nothing more
04:03you
