00:00Hi, my name is Katie Ford.
00:01I am originally from San Diego, California,
00:04currently living in Los Angeles, living the dream.
00:07I'm a full-blown creator.
00:09I started with being a SAG actor.
00:12I work with makeup and photography.
00:15I'm a director, an editor, a social media manager,
00:18and now just trying to do anything creative
00:21with my hands and with my art.
00:23So my first horror short with ACM Official
00:25was In the Shadows.
00:27The short was essentially myself and a friend
00:30were victim to a supernatural-type criminal
00:34or escaped convict.
00:35Creeps are out tonight.
00:43Where'd he go?
00:45I don't know.
00:46Selfie was super fun.
00:47We actually filmed that in my old house,
00:49which a lot of my friends can't watch Selfie
00:52because of that one, because they're like,
00:53I know where the house is,
00:55and it makes it that much more real for them.
01:08We had a lot of fun flying towels off of my rat cage
01:12with, like, string.
01:13Can you hear me?
01:16And doing a lot of heavy panting
01:19and making sure that the camera and the phones
01:21were the right angle.
01:22Very challenging, but extremely fun,
01:24and I love how it all turned out.
01:26Bloody Mary.
01:28Everybody knows the story of Bloody Mary.
01:30It is an honor to be in such a classic horror story
01:34where you know essentially what's going to happen,
01:36but you get to do your little own spin on it.
01:39Bloody Mary.
01:55So I not only was the victim named Jennifer who was summoning Bloody Mary,
02:01but I also got to be Bloody Mary.
02:04So, I got to do the make-up.
02:06I got to do the hand that reaches out and grabs Jennifer.
02:15Jennifer.
02:18And before, I don't believe my character had a name,
02:21and we were discussing a way to make it more scary,
02:25and I said, well, why don't we just pick a name of somebody,
02:27a common name, a very, a name that everybody has,
02:30or a name that's easily in a conversation,
02:31and Jennifer became that name.
02:34And I think that that made it that much more creepy,
02:36especially reading the comments afterward,
02:38with someone named Jennifer being like,
02:39that freaked me out that you had my name,
02:41and now I have nightmares.
02:43And I told them you're welcome.
02:44The Clown Trilogy.
02:47I, clowns have a special place in my heart.
02:50Not only do I create OC clowns,
02:52I have at least a dozen different clown personas.
02:55This specific clown is one of my favorites.
02:58I call her Twerky.
02:59I don't know what Alex calls her,
03:00but for me, it's Twerky the Clown.
03:02I wear the same exact outfit every time.
03:04I personally do my own makeup,
03:06and it is the same every single time.
03:08The first one, I attack a little girl and her dad.
03:16Dad, there's someone in my room.
03:21Dad!
03:21The second clown is about a hotel,
03:24and this one is a little scarier for me personally,
03:26because the victim is a single woman by themselves in a hotel.
03:41The third is at the pier.
03:54This one is my personal favorite,
03:56because I get to add a little bit of my skills as a clown
04:00and as a clown entertainer through using a squeaker to speak.
04:02And I personally think it's really creepy that you can understand
04:06at least some of the words that I'm saying,
04:08as it is, again, a skill,
04:10and not everybody knows how to speak with a squeaker in their mouth.
04:13But that one is one of my favorites.
04:20Hey, you're the clown that's been photobombing me.
04:27There is also a spin-off to the clown series called The Omega Clown,
04:32where I basically puppeteered a puppet who was puppeted by the clown.
04:38So Torgy the Clown does make a little appearance,
04:40a little cameo, if you will, in The Omega Clown.
04:52And the list continues.
04:55I've been to so many of these.
04:57One of the best series that I was a part of would be The Smiling Women.
05:01They are super amazing.
05:03Now, I was in specifically number six with Felisa Rose.
05:05She is a fantastic scare actor.
05:07I definitely learned a few tricks from her.
05:24I really enjoyed that one.
05:25It was super fun.
05:26If you haven't seen it, you should.
05:28The next on the list is Don't Fall Asleep,
05:29where my nightmare paralysis demon kills my boyfriend.
05:33Essentially, I get blamed for it, interrogated,
05:36and then eventually the nightmare demon kills me.
05:39I hope you have a better answer.
05:44Pick up.
05:47Dropping a nightmare.
05:49In Date with a Serial Killer, I play Lilith Doyle,
05:52who happens to be going on a date where he ends up being a serial killer.
05:57He breaks into my house, my lights go off, there's a news report.
06:01It's very crazy.
06:13But what you don't know is there is a twist at the end.
06:16If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you do.
06:19Next is The Bride, where I play Abby Newman.
06:22My very distraught husband decides to bring me back to life through witchcraft and sorcery.
06:43I don't come back as Abby, I come back as a demon who ends up being not so nice to
06:50my husband.
06:54Fun fact, that is my actual wedding dress from my wedding.
06:59My hair and flower crown are from my actual wedding.
07:02I was very happy to get to do all of that again.
07:05And I did my own makeup.
07:07So I've always been a little entertainer,
07:09but what made me want to become an actress was watching Wicked on Broadway.
07:13I know, I know, cliche, but not just Wicked on Broadway.
07:17It was Wicked like the original cast of Wicked on Broadway.
07:21I saw it with my mom.
07:22I was mesmerized.
07:23And now I know every song, every lyric, every actor, every part,
07:27just because I was so engrossed in that world.
07:30And from that, I went to my own plays in high school, junior high, elementary school.
07:35And then I decided one day I would leave little old San Diego
07:39to go so far two hours north to become an actor in LA.
07:43My journey as an actress has been uphill, downhill, in the snow, both ways.
07:49It started very common.
07:51I had a music video role in the Netflix and Do Say Smino music video.
07:57It was an overnight shoot for $50, but I made some amazing friends.
08:02I truly enjoyed it.
08:03And even though I was like deep background, you can still tell that it's me,
08:07which I was pretty proud of.
08:09From that, I did crowd work.
08:11I was background in things where I was, you know,
08:14girl who crosses camera or girl who takes sip of water.
08:18It's very common for people to start at that kind of level.
08:22I was typecasted into more risque roles or 18 to look younger.
08:26And I have been doing 18 to look younger since I was 25.
08:30And I'm now in my mid thirties.
08:32I know I don't look it, but that is, that's what we get sometimes.
08:37And because of that background experience, because I got a thousand no's and one yes every
08:42now and then, I decided maybe I need to make my own art, my own content.
08:47I then started things with Alex through ACM official.
08:51Or I have my own TikTok where I started from the bottom and went to 1.6 million followers.
08:57Because I decided, well, if these directors don't see my potential,
09:01I know I'm good at what I do and I want to make art.
09:04So I did.
09:07Hmm. Working with Alex through ACM official.
09:09I honestly, it's a joy.
09:11I really appreciate the type of director that he is.
09:14Uh, he is not close to other ideas, especially, uh, from myself.
09:19I am a director as well.
09:20And I like to throw in a few tidbits here and there, or if I see an actor struggling,
09:25I would be like, can I, can I help just a little bit?
09:28And he's very welcoming to help, which is honestly rare for a director.
09:32I enjoy how professional everybody is.
09:36I enjoy how well picked and well thought out all of the actors and the costumes and
09:41the scenes and sets are.
09:43I just really enjoy working with him in general.
09:46That is such a hard question.
09:48Okay. Victim and villain.
09:50I've played both.
09:51I've done both victim and villain.
09:52I really enjoy playing a victim because it allows me to have more of my acting
09:58variety and my acting skills through crying and shaking and breathing weird
10:03and having just the ability to portray being scared.
10:06Cause it is more difficult than you think it is to portray being scared,
10:09especially if you have to cry and you have to remember, okay, my camera,
10:12my phone goes here, or I have to look at this camera and it's, it is difficult.
10:17However, I am in my villain era and I absolutely adore playing villains.
10:22From clowns to vampires to a ghost that comes back from the dead to murder my husband.
10:29It is fun with makeup.
10:31It is fun with costumes.
10:33It is fun doing the actual jump scares and it is fun adding personally.
10:38I'm not sure Alex enjoys it, but I love adding just a little bit of comedy to it.
10:42Cause comedy horrors are my bread and butter.
10:46So my favorite genre to act in is honestly 50, 50 comedy horror.
10:53If I could add them together, which I do on, on a regular basis, I would, uh,
10:57that basically clowning for me is comedy horror.
11:01As a scare actor through haunts, it's comedy horror.
11:04I want to make you laugh as much as I want to make you uncomfortable and make you scared.
11:07My favorite horror film is not a comedy in any way, shape or form.
11:12It is messed up.
11:14It messes with your brain and I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever go to the
11:20French catacombs because of this specific movie.
11:23It is called as, as above, so below, uh, scary, very scary, very sweaty armpit, very shaky.
11:32There are a couple of jump scares, which I love being an actor to give jump scares.
11:37I don't like jump scares.
11:40They scare me and I feel like it's, it's, it's a, it's a classic scare, but it, to me,
11:46it's a little cheap, but when it's like a really scary horror film and they just do like a pop,
11:51it's like rude.
11:53How dare you?
11:55My favorite food.
11:56I love noodles, all kinds of noodles from a pecky mouth or junkie noodle to ramen noodles
12:04from like a genia ramen.
12:06I just love noodles.
12:08Lemon chicken piccata specifically, my, my husband can cook.
12:13And when he makes lemon chicken piccata, I, I melt in the lemon and butter.
12:17And it's, it's, it's so good noodles.
12:21My advice for anyone who would like to pursue acting is to just do it.
12:26Don't get discouraged with all the nose.
12:28Don't get discouraged if you don't get the parts you're going out for.
12:31Don't get upset if it's taking years and years and years.
12:35Just if you love it, pursue it.
12:38If you want to do it, then there's nothing else in the world that should stop you.
12:41So what's coming up for me?
12:44Let's see.
12:45I am working on a fan film Star Wars short called Path of the Lost.
12:50My husband is actually writing it.
12:53I will be a, I don't want to give too much away.
12:59I'm just going to say my character's name is Thrava.
13:01I am a, a dark sister.
13:04I'll say that I'm a dark sister.
13:06Uh, and it is essentially bringing a, one of the last Jedis back into the world of Jedi,
13:12because there's a dark looming thing in the sands and we have to find it and destroy it.
13:18But unfortunately he's dead and depressed, so we have to bring his character back to life
13:22by torturing him through the magic of being a dark sister.
13:26If you want to see more of my shorts, any of my TikToks, content, photos, as I am a model,
13:31and so many, so many, so many other things, you can find me at my master link,
13:36beacons.ai slash fey underscore wild.
13:40I have everything from my TikToks to modeling to my IMDB, actor's access.
13:48If you are looking for an actor, literally anything, you could find me there.
13:54I really enjoyed answering all your questions, sharing with you all of the shorts that I was in.
13:59It actually shocked me a little bit to know how many I was a part of.
14:02The fact that I get to review it and just see how far I've come as an actor, I am
14:06blessed.
14:07And I hope that you watch every single short on this channel and I hope that you follow
14:11every single interviewer that you see because we are working hard and it is a complete validation
14:16to have people care and dig deep into the actors of all of these shorts.
