00:00When I was looking through Reddit and reading some paranormal encounters,
00:05the story really creeped me out. There is something about the Appalachian Mountains
00:09that intrigues me, but also really creeps me out. I have read so many stories of people having
00:17first-hand accounts with the paranormal. I hope you enjoy this story as we talk about this Reddit
00:24user's bone-chilling experience with a terrifying entity in the Appalachian Mountains. If you have
00:31any first-hand paranormal experiences, please comment them and I will be making some of them
00:37into stories just like this one. The person telling the story had lived their whole life
00:43surrounded by thick forests and steep mountains. Nightfall that was not like it was in towns or
00:48cities. It was a true darkness that could only be understood by experiencing it. On a night about
00:55two or three years ago, they decided to hang out with a friend they called Mark. They spent the
01:00evening doing their usual routine, watching UFC fights and playing video games. It was extremely
01:07late by the time boredom set in and they decided to go for a walk on a nearby trail. The
01:13trail itself
01:13was not very long, but it cut through heavy woods that always seemed to hum with unseen life. Even
01:20for someone used to the thick forests, being out there after midnight felt uneasy. The two friends made
01:27their way down the trail, the trees crowding around them, their steps crunching softly on the dirt.
01:34After about 30 minutes of walking, they reached a spot roughly halfway through the trail.
01:39It seemed like a good place to stop, to talk and listen to the forest around them.
01:45The woods were unusually alive that night. It was not just the normal background noise of crickets
01:51and small animals. The forest itself seemed restless. Animal sounds echoed from all directions,
01:58sharp and frantic, almost as if the woods themselves were unsettled. Even though it was strange,
02:04they brushed it off, thinking maybe a larger animal was nearby causing the commotion. But there was a
02:11tension in the air that neither of them could shake, something thick and heavy, even if they did not say
02:16it out loud. They finished chatting and decided it was time to move along. But the moment they took a
02:22few
02:22steps, the woods around them fell into a sudden unnatural silence. The sudden silence was overwhelming,
02:28like the forest itself had been muted. It pressed against them, thick and unnatural, and made every
02:36step forward feel wrong. Then breaking through the heavy stillness came a voice. It did not sound right.
02:44It was shaky and cracked, almost robotic, like an old children's toy with a broken speaker.
02:51The voice was not calling words they could clearly understand. Instead, it was a mix of strange,
02:58disconnected sounds, rising and falling in pitch. It seemed to hover around them, always at the same
03:05distance no matter how far they moved. Fear hit hard. Without speaking, they both bolted down the trail,
03:12running as fast as they could. Every frantic step kicked up dirt and fallen leaves.
03:19But no matter how far they pushed themselves, the voice stayed just as loud as when it first started.
03:25It never faded, never got closer, just stayed there, repeating its garbled, unnatural sounds.
03:32The darkness of the forest felt endless. Each tree they passed looked like a twisted figure
03:38standing silently along their path. The only thing louder than the voice was the pounding of their
03:44hearts as panic took over. The trail seemed to stretch on forever. But still, they did not slow
03:51down. They knew they had to get away, even if they did not know exactly from what. The heavy air,
03:58the
03:58strange voice, and the endless stretch of darkness made it feel like they were trapped in a nightmare
04:03with no clear end in sight. Finally, after what felt like forever, they saw the end of the trail ahead.
04:09Their legs ached from running, and their lungs burned from the cold night air. But the moment
04:15they thought they were safe, something even worse happened. A scream tore through the night behind
04:20them, so loud and violent that it froze them in place for a split second. It was not an animal
04:26call.
04:26It was not a trick of the wind. It sounded human, but twisted, full of rage, pain, and something deeply
04:35wrong. The force of it shook the trees and sent birds scattering from their nests in every direction.
04:41Neither of them had ever heard anything like it before. It felt like pure hate made into sound.
04:46Their bodies reacted before their minds could. Without speaking, they broke into another sprint,
04:53leaving the forest behind as fast as they could. The trail exit was close, but every second dragged.
04:59It felt like that scream was chasing them, clawing at their backs. Every instinct told them not to look
05:05behind, not to stop for even a moment. The only thought in their minds was getting out of those
05:10woods and reaching the safety of the car. Even with the sound fading into the distance,
05:15the terror stayed sharp, pushing them forward through the last stretch of dark forest.
05:21They finally burst out of the woods, hearts pounding and clothes damp from sweat and fog.
05:26The trail gave way to a small gravel path leading towards the car, which was parked just a few minutes
05:32away. Even though the scream had stopped, the woods behind them felt heavy and dangerous,
05:37as if something unseen still watched from the dark. Without saying a word, they ran the final stretch
05:44to the car. Every sound, even the crunch of gravel under their shoes, seemed deafening after the thick
05:50silence of the forest. They jumped inside, locked the doors, and sat there for a few moments,
05:57catching their breath and trying to process what had just happened. Neither of them spoke for a long
06:02time. It was like their minds refused to make sense of what they had heard. The voice in the woods,
06:08the unnatural way it had followed them, and the scream that still echoed in their bones. It all
06:15felt like something out of a nightmare. After a while, they started the car and drove away,
06:21leaving the woods and the horror of that night behind. But even as they left, the feeling of being
06:26watched never completely faded. It would stay with them, a memory burned deep into their minds,
06:32a chilling reminder that some things in the dark woods cannot be explained. They never walk that trail again.
