When she’s roped into babysitting the sheriff’s little kid, the evening turns into a full-on nightmare. Not the spooky “maybe the house is haunted” kind. The kind where every sound in the dark feels personal.

Meanwhile, the local sheriff receives a piece of evidence in the mail, and that’s when the movie shifts gears into a grim scavenger hunt. The goal is simple: figure out what happened to another babysitter and pull the killer into the light.

It’s a thriller-horror throwback with sharp tension and zero patience for comforting explanations.

Später Abend, Vorstadt-Idylle, Achtziger-Jahre-Lampen flackern. Genau ein Jahr nach dem Mord an der Babysitterin durch den Killer „The Reaper“ kommt Deena zurück nach Hause. Sie will nur kurz durchatmen und vielleicht so tun, als wäre das alles schon mal passiert. Natürlich nicht. Denn kaum übernimmt sie das Babysitten für den kleinen Sohn des örtlichen Sheriffs, nimmt der Abend eine Wendung, die eher nach Jagd aussieht als nach „Familienabend“.

Und während Deena versucht, das Chaos unter Kontrolle zu kriegen, bekommt der Sheriff außerdem einen Hinweis zugeschickt. Danach folgt eine Art Schnitzeljagd, aber mit Nerven und Blut statt Klopapier und Aufklebern. Night of the Reaper ist kein Meisterkurs in Subtilität. Eher 90 Minuten: „Du wolltest Horror? Hier ist er, mit ordentlicher Vergeltung.“
