00:00The thing that led me to becoming Muslim was literally Jesus.
00:03Now, I was Christian, and when I met my first Muslim,
00:06I found out that Muslims actually believe in all the same prophets as me from the Bible,
00:10and I was very shocked by that.
00:12So, where maybe most people research Islam,
00:15I decided to research Christianity,
00:17and in doing that, Jesus led me to becoming Muslim.
00:21I basically researched passages about Jesus,
00:24what he did, and I found out that Jesus actually prostrated to God.
00:28That shocked me, because I was like, Muslims pray like that,
00:31but as a Christian, I don't pray like my beloved Jesus.
00:35Peace be upon him.
00:35Like, that is so weird.
00:36I also read passages where Jesus said,
00:38I am not God.
00:39You guys are evil if you're praising me like I am God.
00:42I'm nothing without my Lord.
00:44I also read passages where Jesus himself said,
00:48there's going to be somebody to come after me to confirm that I'm not a liar
00:52to prove that what I'm saying to you is the truth,
00:54because the people of his time thought he was a liar, thought he was a magician.
00:57So, then I started wondering, like, okay, if somebody else is going to come,
01:00who would that be?
01:01Then I started researching Mohammed, peace be upon him,
01:03and I realized that him and Jesus would have had the same mission.
01:07They were given the same responsibility, duty, and mission by God,
01:11and in my opinion, they would have actually been brothers,
01:14and they would have been companions.
01:16They would have worked together to reveal God's message.
01:19So, my love of Jesus,
01:21my worry about being arrogant to God,
01:23literally led me to do my Shahada.
01:25I am, alhamdulillah, it literally led me to reading the Quran.
