00:52mysterious messages written on the sky in sign the eagle are believed to be the work of Nathan
00:59Gregory, owner of a small carnival show, whom the directors of an airplane factory charge
01:06with attempting to blackmail them.
01:08Gregory, in his turn, accuses the directors of having stolen from him an invention that
01:15is worth a fortune.
01:17Gregory's daughter, Jean, frantic with anxiety because her father has disappeared mysteriously,
01:23has trailed two agents of the Eagle to the airplane factory.
01:27Meanwhile, our friend Craig McCoy, stunt flyer with the carnival, is also at the factory,
01:35accompanied by the strong man, the ventriloquist, and the midget.
01:46Get to the street, Mr. Gregory. I'll hold him.
01:59I don't know.
02:01I'll do this again.
02:02Good evening.
02:26He'll be happy to see you, Mr. Regi.
02:29Chief.
02:30Quick.
02:31We've got the hires.
02:34Gregory.
02:43Frick.
02:44heckle.
02:44She's fainted.
02:45Give her to the car.
02:47I'll hold these birds off.
02:48You way.
02:49Here.
02:49Hold your holding.
02:51There she is.
03:30There's Gregory, getting in the car.
03:37So you thought you'd get away from us, did you?
03:40Not a chance.
03:41Open that door there.
03:50You'll never get me back there alive.
03:51Hey, what's this all about, you two?
04:00You got here just in time, officer.
04:03This man's insane.
04:05Insane?
04:06Why, you...
04:12So the end's insane, eh?
04:15Yeah.
04:16Persecution mania.
04:18Thinks he's an inventor whose plans have been stolen.
04:21Imagines he's being held prisoner by enemies.
04:23You poor!
04:25Oh!
04:26I am an inventor.
04:28My invention was stolen.
04:30And I have been held prisoner.
04:32By the directors of that corporation.
04:35There, see?
04:36Yeah, too bad.
04:38One of you boys drive the car and we'll take him down.
04:41Oh, but I tell you, it's all a mass of lies.
04:43I am an inventor and I...
04:44Yeah, sure, sure.
04:45But officer...
04:45I understand.
04:46Come along.
04:47Tell me all about it now.
04:58Say, officer.
05:00Hadn't we better take him back to the sanitarium?
05:03You see, his relatives are big shots.
05:05And they wouldn't want the newspapers to get hold of this.
05:07Oh, I see.
05:09I haven't been in the sanitarium.
05:11I tell you, these men are after my life.
05:20Gregory is the eagle, all right.
05:22This time, we actually saw him.
05:23Yes, there's no doubt of it.
05:25Look.
05:27Another sky in the sea.
05:31The eagle again.
05:33His riding aim.
05:35His victory.
05:36We've got to do something to stop this, Bean.
05:38Well, what can we do?
05:39Oh, this thing can't go on.
05:40Let's call in the police.
05:42You know very well we don't dare appeal to the law.
05:44Certainly.
05:45We absolutely can't.
05:45We're quiet.
05:46Where did it?
05:57She's suffering from shock, more than anything else, I think.
06:01The night's rest will take care of that, I'm sure.
06:03It's enough to shock anybody being attacked by a madman.
06:06Madman?
06:07What's happened?
06:09There's my father.
06:10You mustn't talk.
06:11You'll only excite yourself.
06:14But I want to know what happened and how I...
06:17We'll tell you all about it in the morning.
06:19I tell you, I can't stay here.
06:21I've got to...
06:25I want to...
06:34There, now. You've got to rest.
06:36Be a good girl and try and sleep.
06:38Well, I've got to get back to my beach.
06:40So long.
06:41I want to...
06:51What are those men doing here?
06:53Why, they brought you here.
07:00Oh, I've got to get out of here. Please get my clothes.
07:02Wouldn't do you any good if you had them.
07:04The entire staff has orders not to let you out.
07:18It's a funny gag.
07:19Listen.
07:21I say to you...
07:22I say, who is that woman...
07:24that I seen you with on the street last night?
07:27And you say...
07:28And I say...
07:29Grant's going up there.
07:30The idea of starting to learn a new act...
07:32this time of night.
07:33Nothing doing.
07:35We've got to stay up till Craig and the rest of the bunch...
07:37come back from the factory.
07:39Oh, gee.
07:45That sounds like them now.
07:53Everything worked out perfectly.
07:55Where's Mr. Gregory?
07:56Why, I haven't seen him.
07:58Isn't he with you?
07:59Well, that's strange.
08:01I thought he was ahead of us.
08:02Maybe we'd better go back and see what's happened to him.
08:05No, you two fellas turn in.
08:07If he doesn't show up pretty quick, Henry and I'll go look for him.
08:15Well, I'm sure that Mr. Gregory got out of the factory.
08:17But the question now is...
08:19Who...
08:20No, you don't.
08:23Get in here.
08:26So, Gregory got away from the factory, did he?
08:28Where is he now?
08:29I don't know.
08:31And if I did know, do you think I'd tell you?
08:33After you robbed him, kidnapped him...
08:34and blamed all your crimes onto him?
08:36Why, you...
08:37The man's crazy.
08:39Don't pay any attention to him.
08:40I'll hold him here.
08:42You fellas go out and search the grounds for Gregory.
08:51I wonder if you could get me a glass of hot milk.
08:53Sometimes that helps me to sleep.
08:55Well, I'll try.
09:30There's two to eat.
09:31I'm sorry, I don't know.
09:31I'm sorry, it's not over.
09:31I wonder if I can also hear something well.
09:35I've turned into that.
09:35I can't hear a glass of hot milk.
09:35I can't hear anything.
09:36Unless you're playing the Sentry.
09:39Why, certainly, I've been in.
09:41Smart boy.
09:46Oh, be a little broad-minded, won't you?
09:49What are you talking about?
09:51This is Gene.
09:52Oh, honey, I can't tell you that.
09:56I've got, uh, visitors.
10:00You mean some of those men are there?
10:03Oh, sure, I mean it, sweetheart.
10:06I mean that and nothing else but.
10:11Gee, ain't love grand, Mr. Green.
10:17Do you think that's funny?
10:19Goodbye, honey.
10:23Poor Jeanette.
10:25I hate to think of her in the hospital.
10:27In the hospital?
10:29Why, sure.
10:30Rit Path Sanitarium.
10:32She's just like a prisoner there.
10:36She's dying to see us.
10:37Hey, Craig.
10:37There's somebody snooping a...
10:39What the?
10:41Come on in.
10:42Join the party.
10:43But no loud talk.
10:46What's the idea of the stick-up, Craig?
10:49They're after Gregory again.
10:51Get up on that stool.
11:05Well, if we're gonna be here all night, we might as well rehearse the act.
11:10Okay.
11:11Now let's see, uh, what was that gag?
11:15I say to you.
11:17You say to me.
11:18Who was that lady I seen you on the street with last night?
11:22All right.
11:23Who was that lady I seen you with on the street last night?
11:28That wasn't no street.
11:29That was right up my alley.
11:32Bop, bop.
11:33Wasn't that a great gag, Mr. Green?
11:35What will I do?
11:36Break him in two and throw the pieces in the wood box?
11:38No, tie him up.
11:39Duck outside and steer the others away from him.
11:42Ha-ha!
11:43I know a better way.
11:52Here he is, fellows.
11:54I've got him over back of the ferris wheel.
11:56Ward.
11:56He's got Gregory.
12:01Here, Billy.
12:01Stand guard over him.
12:03Wait a minute.
12:11Okay, pal.
12:12Okay, pal.
12:22Where's Gregory?
12:23I thought you said you had him.
12:25Why, no.
12:25We thought you said it.
12:27No.
12:28No?
12:29No.
12:41There's a Dr. McCoy in the lobby to see your patient.
12:44Dr. McCoy?
12:45Yes.
12:46He was sent by the two gentlemen who brought the patient in last night.
12:48Okay.
12:49Show him in.
12:54They're expecting you.
12:55Room three.
12:56First to the left.
13:01Good morning, nurse.
13:03Good morning, doctor.
13:04And how was our patient this morning?
13:06I think rested very nicely.
13:10Oh, may I borrow your thermometer, please?
13:12Uh, certainly.
13:23Oh, that was clumsy of me.
13:25Could you get me another thermometer, please?
13:26Yes.
13:35What's it all about?
13:36How did you get here?
13:37Oh, I don't know.
13:38Daddy and I were attacked in the factory.
13:40Then I fainted like a little fool.
13:42Then the next thing I knew, I was here.
13:43Oh, listen.
13:44I think they've got Daddy here, too.
13:46What makes you think so?
13:47Because it was Moore and Boyle who brought me here.
13:50Moore and Boyle?
13:52That means we've got to work fast.
13:54Now, I'll prowl around and try and find out what room he's in.
14:07Moore and Boyle are out there now.
14:11How are the patients this morning?
14:13Both are doing nicely, I believe.
14:15Dr. McCoy is in with the young lady now.
14:18Hello?
14:19McCoy.
14:20Yes.
14:21Mrs. Bromley is doing as well as can be expected.
14:26I suppose it'd be all right for us to go in, wouldn't it?
14:30Yes, I think so.
14:31You know the room.
14:32Yes, thank you.
14:40Don't be a fool.
14:41It's Greg who we're after.
14:58There's no use getting noisy.
15:00You're going out with us, and that's that.
15:02I won't go.
15:04You can't make me go.
15:06Would you rather we'd calm you down?
15:12What's the meaning of this, gentlemen?
15:16Who are you, and what do you want with this patient?
15:20Why, we're the men that brought him here last night.
15:22This gentleman is his brother.
15:24Hey, it's a lie.
15:25He's not my brother.
15:26They've come here to kidnap me.
15:27Oh, no, no.
15:28That's all right.
15:28I'm sure everything's going to be all right.
15:31You boys better step outside while I quiet him down.
15:40Easy, Skipper.
15:43Now, the strong man's waiting outside in the car.
15:45When I give you that signal, I beat it.
15:48Quick, look out.
15:53Never mind me.
15:54You get out.
15:54Quick.
15:58Get me out of this closet.
16:01Give me my clothes.
16:18Hey, Dan! Shorty, come quick! The crazy man's getting away!
16:30Where's your father?
16:31Craig's with him.
16:33Look!
16:35Let me go!
16:36Let me go, I can't do it!
16:38I don't belong here!
16:40Get them water, Sparty!
16:52Get in the car!
16:54I'll hold these birds up!
17:09Come on, we've got to stop Gregory!
17:49Beat it around the corner!
17:50I'm going back to help Craig!
18:12Go on through, Gene!
18:13If we stop there, get us!
18:17Go on through, Gene!
