01:25Perhaps you are connected right now to this service and you are going through a situation that has led you
01:33to ask questions to God.
01:36God, God, where are you in this mess?
01:41What are you saying to me through this trouble?
01:47What is your purpose?
01:49What is your plan?
01:57God, where are you?

02:18if you read the bible even the great biblical heroes of faith they had moments of doubts
02:29they had questions look at john the baptist he even sent his disciples to ask jesus are you
02:39actually the one in that book of matthew 11 1 to 6 pizza jesus called him to come
02:51called him to come on the water he was there coming to jesus then he looked at the waves
02:59he looked at the sea he heard the noise of the storm and he fell doubts came what's of job
03:08throughout the book of job you see him bring questions to god
03:18queries about what he's going through you see him bringing questions to god he never questioned god
03:29he brought complaints to god he did not complain about god
03:42confusion never led him to a place of confrontation with his maker
03:51it's not wrong to have questions it's not wrong to ask questions as long as we are seeking the answers

06:27to question god's sovereignty
06:30that is the aim of the devil
06:34he wants us to take our questions
06:39to places to people who don't actually have the answers
06:44so that in our search for help we end up even more hurt

06:52intention of the devil
06:54right from the beginning
06:57in fact i want you to turn with me

07:03you see this tactic of the tempter
07:07in the very first accounts of temptation
07:10temptation in genesis chapter 3
07:12let's turn there
07:13now the serpents was more cunning than any beast of the fields
07:18which the lord god had made
07:21and he said to the woman has god

07:28you shall not eat of every tree of the garden
07:33and the woman said to the serpents we may eat the fruits of the trees of the garden

07:57for god knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be

08:06knowing good and evil can you see the tactics of the tempter

08:27when he responded with the word of god he then questioned god's intention

08:46the tactics of the tempter have not changed
08:50in the face of your situation today
08:54he will still come with those foolish thoughts

09:06perhaps god doesn't actually love you
09:13trying to get you to question god's love
09:17perhaps he knows what you are facing
09:20and is turning a blind eye
09:24he wants you to doubt god's goodness
09:29he knows what you are going through but he is unable to intervene
09:34he wants you to question god's power
09:42or he'll lie to you and say
09:45your pain your problem
09:49is greater than god's power to intervene
09:52oh that generational curse is so strong
09:57that affliction is so deep
10:01why because the devil wants us
10:04to question god
10:07to question his goodness to question his love
10:10to question his power to question his sovereignty
10:18i repeat people of god
10:21it's not wrong to have questions god does not mind your questions god does not mind your doubts
10:28as long as you are seeking the answers from him
10:35you begin to question god the next step is to seek answers elsewhere
10:44many of us have sought answers in places and from people that made our situation far worse
10:55that led us deeper into pain
10:58that led us deeper into sin that entangled us
11:06because we started looking for help
11:12for answers in the wrong places from the wrong people from the wrong sources
11:23bringing your questions to god
11:29can bring forth revelation from god
11:35that will draw you closer to him
11:41that revelation may not necessarily change your circumstance
11:46it will change your perspective
11:50but questioning god
11:55questioning him
11:58perhaps god is showing favoritism
12:01why why does he have mercy and bless this person but in my case
12:09after i've done this i've done that i've go to church i've prayed i've fasted i've done all these
12:15things my own problems still persist why is god favoring this person questioning god
12:22that will bring forth
12:25that will bring forth skepticism
12:28cynicism heart heartedness that will end up taking you
12:34taking you away from him
12:41one of the biggest tools the devil uses to fuel these types of questions
12:48is comparison
12:51i look at someone else i look at my brother i look at my sister i look at my neighbor
12:58oh i see that person
13:01who i know is not even a living a godly life and they get a blessing and they seem to
13:07be enjoying it
13:08and me that wants to please god i'm going through this trouble
13:13where is god in the midst of that
13:19perhaps he doesn't actually love me
13:23perhaps he's not truly concerned about me
13:27perhaps he doesn't know what i'm going through
13:29so let me look elsewhere for help
13:33that is what the devil wants you to do to compare yourself with others
13:39to fuel the wrong kind of questions
13:44so that you end up questioning god rather than bringing your questions your issues your concerns
13:52to him the evidence of a close relationship with god is not the absence of questions
14:00it's the fact that you can bring your questions to him from a place of reverence not rebellion
14:11you can come before him in humility to seek answers
14:20not with pride to stir up arguments
14:26everyone has questions people of god
14:31everyone even the great heroes of faith let me remind you of a case in the bible
14:40the case of elijah in first kings 19
14:43the great prophet elijah who was used mightily by god
14:52received a threatening message from queen jezebel
14:58and the bible says he ran out of fear for his life
15:04where did he run where did he go did he look for human sympathy did he look for
15:12natural security no he ran to the mountain of god
15:17and brought his issues to god he acknowledged he was distressed he acknowledged he was disturbed
15:28you could even say he was depressed using language such as oh take my life lord
15:36but he brought these issues to god
15:43and revelation came that changed his perspective
15:49it didn't necessarily change the circumstance the threats of jezebel was still presence
15:56but the revelation brought a shift in focus it changed his perspective to know he was not alone
16:05and he continued his journey of faith and drew closer to god because he brought his questions to god
16:13i hope you understand what i'm saying people of god perhaps you're connected right now
16:20there's a long-standing issue you are battling going through
16:29perhaps the devil has whispered those lies to your hearts trying to get you to doubt god
16:39to doubt his goodness to doubt his goodness to doubt his love to question his power
16:46he lies to us through our trials through our troubles
16:51saying that god is uncaring god is unwilling or god is unable to intervene
17:02don't listen to those lies
17:08they will only cause you to seek answers
17:14others in places in places that will intensify your problems
17:22bring your concerns to god
17:26bring your questions to god
17:29bring your pain to him
17:33bring your burdens to him
17:39trust
17:43that as you are busy
17:46thinking about the question
