Snowy small-town winter. Dead quiet streets. Polly is hanging around her grandparents’ house, and it doesn’t look like ambition ever found her. Then the doorbell rings and in comes a small, elderly woman who seems confused enough to pass as a harmless problem. For about five seconds. Because the visitor drops the cheerful news that Polly will die tonight unless she puts three specific things into a mysterious box. One thing Polly loves. One thing she hates. And one thing she needs. So basically, it turns into a countdown with emotional homework, and the rules keep shifting. Real life, fake life, maybe both, maybe neither. Polly tries to solve the diabolical puzzle before time runs out, and the movie leans hard into that uncomfortable question: what if the box already knows your answers?

Plot Twist, ganz ohne Feenstaub: Die Fremde kündigt an, dass Polly diese Nacht nicht überlebt. Lösungsvorschlag: Sie muss drei Dinge in eine mysteriöse Box legen. Eines, das Polly liebt. Eines, das sie hasst. Und etwas, das sie braucht. Klingt wie ein fieses Quiz. Wird aber schnell ein psychologischer Trichter, in dem Zeit und Realität durcheinandergeraten. Bis Polly merkt: Die Hölle ist nicht metaphorisch. Sie ist verpackt.
