Forget the cape for a second. Aztec Batman starts with something uglier than a bad guy speech. Yohualli Coatl, an Aztec boy, watches his father and village leader Toltecatzin get murdered by Spanish Conquistadors. The next move is pure survival: he runs to Tenochtitlan to warn King Moctezuma and his high priest Yoka that the invasion is closing in.

From there, the movie leans into its own weird logic. At the temple of the bat god Tzinacan, Yohualli trains with his mentor and assistant Acatzin. He builds gear and weapons like he’s turning grief into a combat plan, then focuses on keeping Moctezuma’s temple standing. And yes, revenge is the engine.

IMDB at 5.3 tells you to expect unevenness. Still, if you want Aztec-versus-Spanier action with a “bat-powered” twist, it delivers enough momentum to be worth a look.

Keine Zeit für Trauer. Er schleppt sich nach Tenochtitlan, um König Moctezuma und seinen Hohenpriester Yoka zu warnen, bevor die Fremden alles in Brand setzen.

Dann kommt der Teil, den man wohl “Training im Fledermaus-Modus” nennen muss: Im Tempel des Fledermausgottes Tzinacan arbeitet Yohualli mit Mentor und Assistent Acatzin, tüftelt Ausrüstung und Waffen zusammen und versucht, Moctezumas Tempel zu halten. Rache als Motiv, Invasion als Dauerrauschen. Klingt nach Fantasy-Action, fühlt sich zwischendurch eher nach sehr leidenschaftlichem Genre-Mix an.
