Seventeen? Nope. Ahmet is 15 and stuck in a remote Yuruk village in North Macedonia, where peace usually comes with rules. He finds his pressure valve in music, because what else do you do when everyone expects you to behave. The problem is his father has an agenda, the community has an even bigger one, and then love shows up. The annoying part. The girl he falls for is already promised to someone else. So the movie keeps asking one blunt question: how far can a kid bend the world before the world snaps back? “DJ Ahmet” is warm in places, tense in others, and surprisingly grounded for a story that could easily turn into melodrama. It keeps it real. Mostly.

Ahmet ist 15, lebt in einem abgelegenen Yuruk-Dorf in Nordmazedonien und macht aus Musik erstmal eine Art Ausweg. Aber natürlich kann man Gefühle nicht einfach mit Beats wegdrücken. Sein Vater erwartet Gehorsam. Die Gemeinschaft erwartet noch mehr. Und dann ist da dieses Mädchen, die schon längst jemand anderem versprochen ist. Was als stiller Rückzugsort beginnt, kippt in einen ziemlich riskanten Balanceakt: zwischen Tradition, Pflichtgefühl und dem ersten großen Verliebtsein, das nicht fragt, ob es gerade bequem ist. „DJ Ahmet“ schaut nicht weg, wenn es unbequem wird. Und ja, der Titel meint auch wirklich Musik, nicht nur eine Metapher.
