Laura, a piano student from Berlin, survives a brutal car accident on a trip into the surrounding countryside. Miracle, sure. The problem is she’s “fine” in a way that doesn’t help. Mentally she’s scrambled. So she stays with Betty, who witnessed the crash and somehow turns that shock into an invitation.

At first, it’s almost suspiciously pleasant. Late-summer days. Gardening. Shared meals. Visits to Richard’s workshop and time with Max, with this family vibe that feels like it’s giving Laura something back. Laura soaks up Betty’s motherly care, and the connection between them gets real fast.

But there’s an ache in the room. Not the dramatic kind with speeches. More like the kind everyone feels and nobody names. Miroirs No. 3 keeps asking a simple, uncomfortable question: if your life becomes a comfortable dream, when do you finally wake up?

Laura, Klavierstudentin aus Berlin, landet bei einem Ausflug ins Umland nach einem schweren Autounfall ausgerechnet heil wieder auf den Beinen. Körperlich okay. Innerlich komplett abgestellt. Und dann ist da Betty. Die hat den Unfall gesehen und bietet erstmal ein Dach, als wäre das alles ein Missgeschick und kein Signal. Was folgt, ist Spätsommer-Romantik ohne viel Pathos: Gartenarbeit, Essen, Werkstattbesuche beim Ehemann Richard und Sohn Max. Die Nähe zwischen Laura und Betty wächst schnell, fast zu schön, um wahr zu sein.

Nur: Irgendwas stimmt nicht. Ein dunkler Schmerz klebt an den vier Menschen, ausgesprochen wird er nicht. Man merkt ihn trotzdem. Miroirs No. 3 macht aus Trost eine Frage. Wie lange kann man einen Traum füttern, bevor man aufwacht und Verantwortung übernimmt?
