Matthew is the kind of retail employee who probably apologizes to the receipt. His life in Los Angeles is all routine, until he meets Oliver. Oliver is a charismatic pop star on the verge of breaking through. And Oliver’s whole vibe is basically “come closer,” even when nobody asked.

Matthew starts with quiet admiration, then finds himself pushed into Oliver’s orbit. The closer he gets, the blurrier the rules become. Is it friendship, or obsession? Inspiration, or manipulation? The movie doesn’t pretend the line is clean. It treats proximity like a lockpick. And once Matthews influence starts slipping, the whole thing turns into a “fine, I’ll go all the way” situation.

Lurker is tight and uncomfortable, the kind of thriller where you feel the trap tightening one interaction at a time.

Lurker macht es einem dabei nicht leicht: Freundschaft? Ja. Besessenheit? Auch. Inspiration? Klar, nur leider mit Manipulations-Akzent. Und wenn Matthews Einfluss zu kippen beginnt, wird aus „Ich will nur nah dran sein“ ziemlich schnell „Ich mache das jetzt zu Ende, egal wie.“ Sarkasmus inklusive, aber die Spannung sitzt. Kurz: ein gefährliches Nähe-Problem, das sich nicht mehr zurückdrehen lässt.
