“A Normal Woman” begins with polished, high-society vibes and the kind of calm that screams, “Nothing bad will happen.” Cut to a mysterious illness hitting the main character, and suddenly her body becomes the enemy. The result is not some tidy mystery. She starts sabotaging her own life, reacting to rejection from places that are supposed to be safe. Family included. It’s less supernatural thriller and more slow self-erasure, with every scene asking whether she’s sick or just being undone in real time. With an IMDb rating of 4.4, you’re not coming for perfection. You’re coming for a tense, slightly uncomfortable portrait of what happens when your identity breaks before the answers arrive.

„A Normal Woman“ startet wie ein schickes Dinner. Dann stolpert die High-Society-Dame in so eine mysteriöse Krankheit, dass nicht mal der eigene Körper freundlich mitspielt. Und während alle anderen das Problem lieber wegignorieren, fängt sie an, ihr Leben selbst zu sabotieren. Klingt nach Horror? Ist eher ein stetes Rutschen in Selbstzweifel, weil sie plötzlich alles verliert. Nicht nur Status. Auch das Vertrauen in sich und in die Familie, die sie eigentlich halten sollte. Bei 4,4 auf IMDb erwartet man keine Wunder, und der Film liefert auch keine. Aber er beobachtet ziemlich eiskalt, wie schnell „normal“ zur Lüge wird, wenn der Körper nicht mehr mitmacht.
