00:00This time this is great to have you. I'm a good friend and a great ally and it's my pleasure
00:07to welcome you to the White House.
00:09I had a chance to present some of the hospitality that you will send it to me and John Thompson
00:18and Jerome.
00:22I guess we're in a D-7 meeting a little bit later and we had that meeting and we're going
00:31to have a second COVID.
00:33That's been a long time ago. Even one of the closest allies we've had on the sea and that I
00:44didn't think of your cooperation.
00:49Sometimes it's going to get across because of the economy. It's going on in creating a million years ago.
01:01Now, Mr. Prime Minister of the United States and so many, so many communities are still out there.
01:27Thank you. Let me say that it's a great pleasure to be with you here today. Thanks for this invitation.
01:40Thanks for this magnificent hospitality.
01:44Our two countries, the ties between our two countries have always been very strong. And if anything, this war in
01:52Ukraine made them stronger.
01:56If Putin ever thought that he could divide us, he's fake. There's no question about that.
02:04We stand together condemning the invasion of Ukraine, sanctioning Russia, and on helping Ukraine as President Zelensky is asking us
02:17to do.
02:20Well, I have to tell you that in Italy and in Europe now, people want to turn in to these
02:29massacres, to these massacres, to this violence, this butchering that's happening.
02:37And people think about what can we do to bring peace. We certainly have to use any direct, indirect, indirect
02:48kind of communication. But is that enough? What can we do?
02:54People think that at least they want to think about the possibility of bringing a ceasefire and starting again some
03:04credible negotiations. That's the situation right now. I think that we have to think deeply on how to address this.
03:17We will continue to work on energy security, food security, especially, which is now another issue there. We will talk
03:28later about that, what to do.
03:33And the other thing I want to say, just in the open, and I don't think we will discuss this
03:38later, but what happened in Ukraine is going to bring a drastic change in the European world.
03:46We've always been close. Now we're going to be much closer. And I know I can count on your support
03:56as a true friend of Europe and of Italy, of course. Thank you.
04:01Thank you.
