00:00The Adidas Champions League ball is one of the most iconic in the game,
00:03but UEFA is set to change manufacturer after 25 years.
00:07Since 2001, Adidas has been the exclusive manufacturer for Champions League balls,
00:12just as it has for the World Cup and the European Championships.
00:15But from 2027 onwards, Nike is set to take over in the Champions League.
00:20The Athletic reports that Nike is close to agreeing a deal with UEFA,
00:24having previously made the Champions League balls before Adidas.
00:26So how much are they paying to make the Nike Swoosh a centerpiece of every single Champions League game?
00:32Well, the previous deal with Adidas was a four-year agreement worth $220 million,
00:37so expect the new figure to be even bigger.
00:40What's not yet clear is whether Nike will stick with the classic star design
00:44or look to do something different for a new era of the Champions League.
