00:00Yeah, so at around 2 a.m. this morning, LAPD officers from the Rampart area responded to an assault with
00:07a deadly weapon, a radio call here at Santa Monica in Vermont.
00:13Preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle had drove into a very large crowd here in the area.
00:22When officers arrived, that driver of the vehicle was being assaulted, physically assaulted by bystanders.
00:29During that altercation, somebody produced a handgun and shot that driver.
00:34Ultimately, the driver was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition, and the suspect who produced a firearm and
00:41shot the driver fled on foot.
00:43He is still outstanding, and we are looking for him.
00:45You know, we are looking for a male Hispanic suspect.
00:49He's approximately 5'9", 180 pounds.
00:52He was last seen wearing a blue jersey.
00:55Anybody with any information, we're urging them to contact Rampart detectives, and I have that number for you.
