00:13It's, you know, the film is, it's something of a satire.
00:18And the idea was to pull back as far as I could and present as much of the culture as
00:24possible without, you know, without neglecting to tell a story.
00:30And so I hope that the film is reflective of the country and the culture at the moment.
00:38And, you know, it's, my experience is that things feel, like, overwhelming and too much.
00:47And so the movie should feel a little bit overwhelming, a little bit too much.
00:53This is a Western in a certain way.
00:56The Western is the most American genre.
00:59Why do you think that it was the right genre for make a film, for you?
01:05Well, the Western, I do think, is sort of the national genre in America.
01:09And I think there's something very interesting about the Western because it's a very romantic genre.
01:16It's very much about the dream of America, the heroic myth of America.
01:23And I think at its best, it's also contending with the reality of America.
