Christian Wolff’s gift is solving impossible problems. The downside is that when something goes wrong, he doesn’t do “paperwork” like a normal person. He does it like a man who can’t stop turning chaos into a formula. After a longtime ally is murdered, a cryptic message pops up telling him to find “the Accountant.” Cool. Except it immediately drags Wolff into a case where “drastic steps” is the nice way of saying: people are going to get hurt.
So he brings in Brax, his estranged and high-risk brother, because apparently trust is optional. And with Marybeth Medina from the US Treasury, he and the team uncover a deadly conspiracy that’s less about secrets and more about covering them up permanently. From there, the movie flips the switch to full pursuit mode, with a ruthless network of killers closing in.
It’s tense, it’s mean, and it’s extremely committed to the idea that the smartest guy in the room still needs to run.

Christian Wolff ist so eine Sorte “Buchhalter”, bei der man sich fragt, warum nicht längst jemand die Knöpfe am Laptop ausgetauscht hat. Als ein alter Weggefährte stirbt und eine Botschaft nur sagt: „den Accountant finden“, ist das für Wolff keine Spur. Das ist eine Einladung, den ganzen Kuchen umzuwerfen. Plötzlich wird klar: Nett nachfragen reicht nicht. Also holt er seinen entfremdeten und verdammt gefährlichen Bruder Brax als Verstärkung. Zusammen mit Marybeth Medina, stellvertretende Direktorin des US-Finanzministeriums, stoßen sie auf eine Verschwörung, die nicht nur peinlich, sondern direkt tödlich ist.
Und dann merkt man auch: Gegen diese Leute hilft kein Plan. Es hilft nur Tempo, Improvisation und der ziemlich schlechte Gedanke, dass Killer offenbar bessere Haushaltsunterlagen haben als der Rest von uns. The Accountant 2 ist Thriller-Mathematik mit Gewalt.
