„Diablo“ is what happens when someone just got out of prison and immediately says, „Cool, let’s kidnap a child.“ Kris Chaney targets Elisa, the daughter of Vicente, a Colombian gangster. It’s the kind of plan that usually ends with bodies and bad decisions, but there’s one twist. Kris isn’t doing it for fun. He’s trying to keep a promise to Elisa’s mother.
Of course, Vicente doesn’t do “quiet negotiations.” He brings the criminal underworld and a psychopath of a killer into the mix, basically turning revenge into an organized sport. Now Kris is stuck in a double bind. Stay alive long enough to do the right thing, or die trying to be the only one who still cares about his word.
It’s not subtle, it’s not polite, and it doesn’t pretend the universe is fair. But if you like crime-thrillers where everyone is dangerous and consequences show up fast, this one should land.

„Diablo“ ist kein moralisches Drama, sondern ein ziemlich dreckiger Deal mit Ketten. Kris Chaney ist gerade erst aus dem Knast raus und beschließt dann prompt, das Leben anderer Leute zu entführen. Ziel ist Elisa, Tochter des kolumbianischen Gangsters Vicente. Klingt wie das Übliche, bis man merkt: Kris will dabei ein Versprechen gegenüber der Mutter einlösen. Also nicht nur Crime für Crime, sondern Schuldgefühl mit Knarre.
Und natürlich eskaliert das Ganze schnell. Vicente heuert eine ganze Menge Ärger an, weil Rache in seiner Welt offenbar wie Sport betrieben wird. Dazu kommt ein psychopathischer Killer, der unter dem Motto „Du hast mich provoziert, also stirbst du“ unterwegs ist. Kris muss jetzt beides schaffen. Am Leben bleiben und sein Wort halten. Das ist hart, das ist unfair, und es macht trotzdem Spaß, weil niemand so richtig so tut, als gäbe es eine saubere Lösung.
