00:00It's not something that should be isolating, it's something that should join us together,
00:04and especially in sisterhood, because we all can relate to those common things.
00:08From the jump, reading that first script, I fell in love with it, and I fell in love with Agnes.
00:15It was time for us to change things.
00:18I thought that it was so beautiful how much love she had for her friends,
00:23but also how much she goes through things that are kind of universal.
00:26She's a girl who experiences friendships, who loves her friends,
00:30who is kind of going through puberty for the first time,
00:34and understanding where she fits in in the world,
00:36and then wanting to also rebel against any kind of system,
00:40but not being in a place where you can do that.
00:43That was something that I could relate to, and I thought was articulated so beautifully with her character.
00:48I think what's also wonderful about this show is that it resonates with audiences in different ways,
00:53and I think every member of the audience can find their own thing that they feel is important to them.
00:58Our responsibility is to just tell the story that we have as truthfully as we can
01:04to adhere to the script that we've got,
01:07and if that evokes a change or a call to action,
01:11such as the Handmaid's Tale costume became emblematic,
01:15then I think that's beautiful, and I think that's so important and such a privilege to be a part of.
01:20I think that all of the younger characters, since they are so young,
01:24they're just entering being a teenager,
01:27but they're having to face these incredibly insane things
01:31that no teenager should have to go through at 13, 14.
01:34Those are all things that are universal.
01:36They're not something that you have to go through alone,
01:38even though in the show, unfortunately, a lot of the girls go through it alone.
01:41It's not something that should be isolating.
01:44It's something that should join us together,
01:46and especially in sisterhood, because we all can relate to those common things.
