Charlie Heller is a CIA decoder who mostly lives in a basement office at Langley, doing the brainy work nobody outside the building really thinks about. Then his wife gets killed in a London terrorist attack. Understandable grief. What follows is the real problem: his supervisors refuse to take action. Not “we’re investigating.” More like “don’t make it messy.” So Charlie stops waiting for permission and starts hunting the people he thinks are responsible. The “global journey” part is there, but the point is simpler. He doesn’t win fights by being louder. He wins by being smarter, staying one step ahead, and turning the whole situation into a chess match he actually controls. It’s a revenge thriller with a nerdy edge. Ratings are… mid. But the premise is sharp enough to keep you watching.

Und weil seine Vorgesetzten lieber bürokratisch weiteratmen als handeln, übernimmt Charlie das Kommando auf seine sehr eigene Art. Kein cooler Spruch, eher der stille Entschluss: „Wenn ihr nicht wollt, mache ich das.“ Ab dann wird aus dem introvertierten Decoder ein Gejagter, der seinen Verfolgern nicht mit Waffen, sondern mit Verstand in die Suppe spuckt. Auf der ganzen Welt läuft er seine Rache-Route ab. Ambitioniert, manchmal zäh, aber wenn der Plan erst anrollt, macht das erstaunlich Spaß. 62% bei Rotten Tomatoes, also nicht schlaflos werden.
