Dani ends up dead in the middle of a remote house reno project that Ted and his wife had to “just get through.” It’s not the kind of home improvement montage you want to rewatch. Naturally, everyone suspects the one place that makes the story easy: the psychiatric facility where Ted works. A patient becomes the prime suspect. Then, right after the murder, he’s found dead too. And somehow the investigation still feels like it’s sprinting toward a cliff.

A year later, Dani’s blind twin sister Darcy shows up. She’s an aggressively confident self-styled psychic medium and a collector of cursed objects. You know the vibe. She doesn’t come to ask questions. She comes because she’s convinced the real truth behind her sister’s death is buried under everyone’s convenient explanations. So she brings the worst items from her curse collection and decides to handle things the only way she knows: by getting everyone involved in a very bad idea.

Dani ist tot. Brutal. Und das abgelegene Landhaus, das Ted gerade mit Hingabe renoviert, wirkt danach weniger wie Zuhause und mehr wie ein sehr teures Tatort-Upgrade. Die Sache ist, alle schauen zuerst zur örtlichen psychiatrischen Anstalt, wo Ted als Arzt arbeitet, und finden natürlich einen Patienten, der sich irgendwie immer verdächtig anfühlt. Spoiler. Kurz danach ist auch der plötzlich tot. Klar, warum sollte das Leben einfach sein?

Ein Jahr später kommt Danis blinde Zwillingsschwester Darcy vorbei. Sie nennt sich Medium, sammelt verfluchte Gegenstände und wirkt dabei wie die Person, die bei jeder Feier sagt: „Ich hab da was, das schiefgehen könnte.“ Hat sie auch. Mit den gefährlichsten Stücken ihrer Sammlung will Darcy der Wahrheit einen kleinen Rachebesuch abstatten. Oddity macht das richtig gut: creepy ja. Aber auch ziemlich frech.
