Ridley is along for the ride with her dad Elliot and his boss Dell Leopold. It’s supposed to be business, the kind where everyone smiles and nobody asks too many questions. Then their drive through the wilderness turns into an accident. They hit and kill a unicorn. And that’s where the movie stops pretending to be subtle. Leopold decides the best response to a magical death is to take the body to his lab and start cutting it up for “research.” Turns out parts of it can heal. So naturally, the next step isn’t ethics. It’s bigger tests, riskier choices, and a profit plan that gets worse by the minute. Meanwhile, strange, ominous stuff starts stacking up, and the bill for all those experiments finally comes due.

Ridley begleitet ihren Vater Elliot und dessen Chef Dell Leopold zu einem Geschäftstermin. Klingt nach ganz normalem Familienwahnsinn. Bis die Fahrt durch die Natur endet, weil das Auto aus Versehen ein Einhorn überfährt. Leopold bleibt natürlich nicht traurig. Er bleibt konsequent. Er bringt das magische Tier ins Labor, will an Teilen dieses “Wunders” forschen und merkt schnell, dass die Dinge tatsächlich heilen können. Medizinrevolution? Klar. Nur macht er daraus zuerst eine Umsatzstrategie. Und weil Profit immer dünner wird als Gewissen, eskaliert er mit jeder Entscheidung ein Stück weiter. Während mysteriöse Ereignisse aufziehen, wird aus dem Labor-Experiment ziemlich schnell ein Problem, das nicht nur Blut abbekommt, sondern auch Konsequenzen.
