Ariel is a music journalist who keeps getting treated like background noise. Then she gets an invite to the remote home of Alfred Moretti, a legendary pop star who vanished 30 years ago. Sure, it sounds like the kind of opportunity that fixes your career overnight. It is not.
At the compound, Ariel finds a whole ecosystem of devoted sycophants. Everyone nods at the right times. Everyone pretends the weird rules are part of the brand. And because of course there are other journalists there too, you quickly realize this is less “exclusive album scoop” and more “group assignment in social manipulation.”
The movie has that uncomfortable vibe where you can feel the PR smiling through the camera. Moretti’s new record might be the hook, but his twisted setup is the real headline.

Ariel arbeitet als Musikjournalistin. Und nein, sie wird nicht „unterstützt“ oder „gehört“. Sie wird übergangen. Dann fällt ausgerechnet ein fetter Auftrag vom Himmel: Alfred Moretti, der legendäre Popstar, ist nach 30 Jahren wieder aufgetaucht. Und ausgerechnet Ariel darf auf sein abgelegenes Anwesen. Klingt nach Karrieresprung, riecht aber eher nach Falle.
Auf dem Gelände wartet ein eng gestrickter Kult aus Ja-Sagern, dazu eine kleine Truppe Journalisten, die so tut, als wäre das alles normal. Das neue Album als Trostpflaster? Vielleicht. Nur dass Morettis „Pläne“ für das Treffen schnell alles andere als harmlos wirken. Dieser Film nimmt Pop-Mythen ernst. Leider auch den mieseren Teil davon. Und genau deshalb funktioniert er.
