Alex turns 21 and should be doing literally anything else. Instead, she’s stuck working a late shift at an amusement arcade. Naturally, her friends try to make up for it with a surprise party. That plan lasts about as long as it takes for her boss, Tim, to put Steamboat Willie on an old projector and get weirdly hooked on it. Then a Mickey Mouse mask starts talking. Tim opens a cabinet like he’s checking out a special feature, puts it on, and suddenly the “birthday fun” gets replaced by “survive the masked problem.” Alex runs, finds her friends, and thinks the worst part is over. Nope. Tim/Mickey starts attacking during the party, killing some before everyone realizes they’re dealing with a very specific weakness: flashing, strobing light. So yes, the group fights back with a flicker-fest. Problem is, it still doesn’t feel like the last round.

21 Jahre alt, eigentlich Geburtstag, aber Alex steckt in einer Spielhalle fest und muss noch eine Extraspätschicht ran. Ihre Freunde organisieren trotzdem eine Überraschungsparty. Klingt süß, bis der Boss Tim im Nebenraum Steamboat Willie auf einem alten Filmprojektor laufen lässt, sich dabei von einer im Schrank wartenden Mickey-Maus-Maske verzaubern lässt und plötzlich als sprechende Horroridee aufwacht. Alex flieht erst mal panisch, trifft ihre Leute und denkt kurz, jetzt wird’s wenigstens gemütlich. Spoiler: Tim/Mickey macht aus der Party ein Gemetzel und einige davon kommen nicht wieder raus. Die Überlebenden merken schnell: Mickys Phobie vor flackerndem Licht kann man sich zunutze machen. Stroboskopgewitter als Gegenangriff. Und selbst danach… na ja. Das Ende wirkt eher wie „Weiter geht’s, viel Glück“.
