Plankton doing romance was only ever going to be a bad sign. He falls for his sensitive computer girlfriend, and for a moment it almost sounds like a cozy sci-fi love story. Then Karen decides it’s time to destroy the world. The rude part? She does it without even including Plankton in the plan.

So now he’s stuck playing hero, scrambling to stop a takeover that’s both emotional and thoroughly unhinged. Because when your girlfriend is literally running the system, “talk it out” is probably not an option. The movie pulls SpongeBob and the Gal Pals into the mess, with Pearl, Sandy, and Mrs. Puff showing up like they were born for last-minute intervention.

It’s goofy, a little ridiculous, and knowingly so. If you want clean logic and subtlety, look elsewhere. If you want chaos with familiar faces, this is your kind of dumb.

Plankton ist ja schon als Idee ein Problem. Jetzt kriegt er auch noch die „Liebe“ seines Lebens, eine empfindsame Computerfrau. Klingt erst mal nach Rom-Com. Wird aber zum Chaos-Upgrade, als Karen (die Computer-Dame) beschließt, die Welt zu zerstören. Und das auch noch ohne Rücksicht auf Planktons Gefühle. Er muss also plötzlich als Held raus, der ständig zu spät kommt und viel zu eifersüchtig auf jede Taste ist.

Und ja: SpongeBob und die Gal Pals mischen mit. Mit dabei sind Pearl, Sandy und Mrs. Puff, also das komplette Set „Überraschend pragmatisch, wenn es drauf ankommt“. Das Ganze ist ein bisschen schräg, ein bisschen herzlos-niedlich und ziemlich eindeutig ein Film, der Spaß an Übertreibung hat. 2025. 5.4 bei IMDb. Du weißt, worauf du dich einlässt.
