00:00The Tercantina, the Tercantina, the Tercantina, the Tercantina.
00:20Today, the unions, both the construction union and the sister union of San Cristóbal,
00:29The nursing union, Corazán, we have not given an appointment here in San Francisco de Macorí
00:36and all the popular organizations here, in this town.
00:41In repudiation of the Dominican business community's attempt to modify labor severance pay in the Chamber of Deputies.
00:52But if the modification that business leaders are requesting and pressuring the Chamber of Deputies to make is implemented,
00:57They have to return to the Senate Chamber. Therefore, the senator would also be a party to that situation.
01:02that could be presented today in the Chamber of Deputies.
01:05But we regret that the deputies were not present, because the code is now really in their hands.
01:11And it's been stuck there for over a year due to the pressure the members of parliament are under.
01:15And as we all know, there are various maneuvers that are carried out in the Chamber of Deputies.
01:21So we want to anticipate that this will happen.
01:24Yes, we are supporting the struggle of the working class in defense of what has been
01:31one of the most deeply felt historical achievements of the workers.
01:36At this time, the business class and the government are trying to dismantle this achievement.
01:43And at the same time we welcome the unity of the workers and the popular sectors
01:49At a time when this government only responds with repression to the just demands of the entire population
01:57motion.
01:57The Dominican people must bravely confront the sinister intentions of the Dominican business community and government.
02:09They want to bury what have been such important achievements as unemployment benefits, among others.
02:17with the purpose of continuing to accumulate wealth and degenerating the quality of life of the workers and the Dominican people.
02:28We want to demonstrate, to send a signal to business owners that we are not deterred by the rain.
02:37Lightning doesn't stop us, thunder doesn't stop us, nobody stops us, and that's why we want to warn you.
02:44that no senator, listen carefully, no deputy in this country, in this country dares to touch in any
02:59of its points
03:00Those related to unemployment benefits will have the support of Dominican workers.
03:11The ADP condemns this attitude and this intention of the business community of the Dominican Republic
03:17and which apparently has also been motivated, approved and accepted by the State policy of the Dominican Republic,
03:27Therefore, the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) will be where time, circumstance, and the moment demand.
03:35determine.
03:35The Labor Code was approved in the Senate of the Republic in two consecutive readings and severance pay was not
03:41It was played.
03:43The Senate sent that to the Chamber of Deputies on October 20th.
03:48And it is in the Chamber of Deputies where this is being discussed in a committee.
03:53Therefore, that issue falls under the jurisdiction of the Chamber of Deputies.
03:58Of course, we and the senator himself, as the Senate, always have our doors open to receive him.
04:08Thank you!
