That is basically the engine of “Thandel”. It is an action-drama with the kind of stakes that do not need speeches. One wrong line on a map, and you are dealing with control, detention, and the brutal reality that nobody cares how you got there. The film leans into tension as much as it leans into action, because the scariest part is not the chase. It is how fast the situation becomes “out of your hands”.

IMDB sits at 6.5, so expect a story that aims for impact, not perfection. But if you like grounded tension mixed with action, it’s worth a look.

Fischerleben in Srikakulam, bis es plötzlich nicht mehr um Netze, sondern um internationale Gewässer geht. “Thandel” nimmt sich einen Mann vor, der einfach seinem Job nachgeht und dann in den Mühlen gerät. Pakistanische Streitkräfte greifen zu. Kein cooles Fehlverhalten im Sinne von “war schon immer so”. Sondern dieses unangenehme Gefühl: Du bist zur falschen Zeit am falschen Ort und plötzlich ist das das Problem einer ganzen Bürokratie.

Das Action-Drama ist dabei nicht nur auf Knall und Rauch gebaut, sondern auch auf das Druckmittel, das entsteht, wenn du weder Regeln noch Kontrolle hast. Tempo ist vorhanden, aber die eigentliche Spannung sitzt zwischen den Szenen: Was passiert, wenn aus “Fischfang” “Gefangenschaft” wird? Und ja, die Handlung weiß, wie sie dich unangenehm festhält.
