Nate is living in his car. Mr. Deen finds out and does the one thing that sounds decent on paper: he pays his bail. A noble move, sure. Also the start of a slow-motion disaster. Because this isn’t just a kid “acting out.” Nate’s coping mechanisms are actively chewing him up, and the more Mr. Deen tries to get him to face what’s underneath, the more ugly secrets surface. Each answer creates a new problem. And suddenly the teacher is not just trying to help Nate. He’s trying to stop the past from winning. The movie keeps flipping the emotional chessboard: saving a student turns into a desperate test of limits, where the real question is how far Mr. Deen will go before he risks losing his own footing.
----------
