00:09Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Next Level English, where learning English is easy and fun.
00:16Hello, Sophie, and hello to all our listeners. I'm so happy to be here today. The sun is shining,
00:22and I'm ready for a great chat.
00:24Me too, Paul. Today, we have a very big topic, something many of our listeners dream about.
00:31Oh, wow. That sounds exciting. What is it?
00:34We're going to talk about living in another country.
00:38That is a big topic. It's exciting, but also a little scary, right?
00:42That is a big topic. It's exciting, but also a little scary, right?
00:47Exactly. It's a big adventure. New places, new food, and, of course, a new language.
00:53Yes, and speaking the language is the hardest part. It makes people nervous.
00:59That's totally normal. Everyone feels that way at first. But today, we want to show that living abroad can be
01:05a wonderful experience.
01:07I agree. And I'm curious. Do you have any secret tips?
01:12Yes, I do. I have a small secret that helped me feel at home very quickly.
01:17A secret? Now I really want to know.
01:20I'll tell you, but at the end of the episode, so stay with us.
01:24Okay. I'll wait. Let's start from the beginning. Packing.
01:29When you move to another country, you pack your life into a suitcase. It's not easy.
01:34Yes. I always want to take everything with me.
01:37Same here. But you have to choose. Photos, favorite books, comfortable clothes.
01:42And maybe food from home.
01:44That's a great idea. Small things from home help when you feel...
01:48Homesick.
01:50Exactly. It's okay to feel that way. It means you love your home.
01:54I remember my first supermarket visit in another country. I spent one hour there.
02:00One hour? Why?
02:02Everything looked different. Even the milk and bread.
02:06That's normal. Even small things become adventures.
02:09And I said something funny once.
02:12Oh no. What did you say?
02:14I asked, where are the chicken circles?
02:17Chicken circles?
02:19Yes. I meant eggs.
02:22That's amazing. But that's how we learn. Communication is not about perfect English.
02:27Finding a house can be difficult, too. You talk to a landlord, sign a contract...
02:33And meet neighbors.
02:34Yes. Good neighbors make life easier and friendlier.
02:38But you have to be brave and say hello.
02:41Exactly. Living abroad is all about being brave. Sometimes my brain feels very tired speaking English all day.
02:50That's called language fatigue. Totally normal.
02:53But it gets easier, right?
02:55Yes. One day you just understand without translating.
02:59Okay, Sophie. Now tell me your secret.
03:02All right. It's called the local cafe trick.
03:05Sounds interesting.
03:06Find a small cafe near your home. Go there every day, even for 15 minutes.
03:12And then?
03:12People will start to recognize you. You become a regular.
03:16Ah, so you feel like you belong.
03:18Exactly. It creates connection and removes loneliness.
03:22That's such a simple but powerful idea.
03:25Yes. Living abroad is about connection.
03:28And that's why we learn English. To connect with the world.
03:32Beautifully said.
03:34Before we go, tell us in the comments.
03:36If you could live in any country, where would you go and why?
03:40Don't forget to like, subscribe, and share.
03:43Thanks for being part of Next Level English.
03:45See you next time. Keep practicing and stay brave.
