“Impaled Rektum” sounds like the band name you choose after a dare. Unfortunately, their life immediately follows that vibe. The whole group ends up in jail, serving time in what is apparently Norway’s most gorgeous prison. It’s almost unfair. Almost.

Because deep down, they have a surprisingly soft side. When they get word that Lotvonen’s (Samuli Jaskio) parents might have to sell their reindeer farm, the band doesn’t do the sensible thing. They break out. Their plan is simple on paper: drive to Germany, land a gig at the legendary Wacken festival, and earn enough money to save the farm.

Spoiler: the trip is not simple. Things keep going sideways, mostly in ways that make you laugh and question everyone’s decision-making skills. Heavier Trip - Road to Wacken is a loud, goofy metal road movie where the punchlines hit as hard as the riffs.

„Impaled Rektum“ klingt wie ein Missverständnis und fühlt sich auch so an. Die Band bekommt den Job-Ticket-Stamp fürs Knastleben. Und zwar nicht in irgendeiner Zelle, sondern in Norwegens hübschstem Gefängnis. Die Strafe läuft. Die Musik auch, irgendwie.

Dann kommt die echte Motivation. Lots von Eltern, genauer: die Rentierfarm der Familie von Lotvonen (Samuli Jaskio) soll wohl verkauft werden. Da hilft nur eins. Ausbrechen, nach Deutschland düsen und beim legendären Wacken-Festival so viel Knete auftreiben, dass die Farm gerettet ist. Klingt nach Heldentat. Wird aber auch zu einem Roadtrip mit Chaos, Schrammen und dem ständigen Gefühl, dass „Plan A“ eigentlich „Hoffentlich“ heißt.

Heavier Trip - Road to Wacken ist skurriler Comedy-Heavy-Metal-Spaß, bei dem der Humor genauso laut ist wie die Gitarren.
