“Canary Black” is basically CIA training meets bad timing and worse people. Avery Graves, a top CIA agent, gets blackmailed by terrorists: betray her own country if she wants her husband back. Spoiler. It’s not a moral dilemma. It’s a survival plan with a countdown.

She’s cut off from her team, so she goes hunting through the kind of underworld connections that usually come with a price tag and a body count. The terrorists want specific information, and Avery wants her husband alive. That means she’s constantly one step ahead and two steps away from being betrayed again, because everyone in this story treats trust like a disposable item.

The movie leans hard on action mechanics: sharp training versus brutally simple fighting. It’s messy, fast, and not trying to be subtle about anything.

Das Ganze ist ein Wettlauf gegen Verrat in beide Richtungen. Jeden Moment könnte jemand umdrehen, verkaufen oder einfach zu spät sein. Avery kämpft sich durch die Lücke zwischen professionellem Training und erstaunlich roher Notwehr. Der Plot wirkt wie ein Presslufthammer. Und ja, genau das ist der Reiz.
