After the apocalypse, most survivors lost something essential. They can’t speak anymore. Azrael and her partner Kenan try to live quietly, the kind of quiet where nobody asks questions and the world barely notices you.
Of course, that lasts exactly until a religious cult decides they’ve found a loophole in the universe. They capture Azrael and drag her away like she’s missing from their planbook. And then the movie turns into a very specific kind of horror math: if you’re caught, you don’t just lose freedom. You get assigned a role.
Out in the wilderness, Azrael is set up for a sacrifice to an “ancient evil.” Which is a nice way of saying the outdoors is the setting for someone else’s ritual. Azrael fights back. No big speeches, just survival mode. ---------- Seit die Apokalypse alles reden abgeschaltet hat, klingt das Leben wie ein gedämpfter Raum. Azrael und ihr Lebensgefährte Kenan ziehen deshalb ziemlich unauffällig durchs Niemandsland. Bis ein religiöser Kult auftaucht und das Wort „unauffällig“ in einem Zug kräftig entsorgt: Sie nehmen Azrael gefangen, verschleppen sie und machen daraus erstmal reine Kontrolle.
Dann kippt es. Draußen wartet ein uraltes „Programm“ aus Opferkult und Angst, und Azrael soll still und ordentlich verschwinden. Spoiler: Sie ist nicht gekommen, um artig zu sein. Das Ganze ist ziemlich direkt, manchmal brutal pragmatisch. Wer auf düstere Survival-Fantasie steht und es mag, wenn eine Heldin nicht lange erklärt, sondern handelt, sollte mal reinschauen.
