In the press shop, tens of thousands of components are produced daily from steel and aluminum blanks in highly automated press lines. Uniform press and tooling standards across the global production network lead to efficiencies on many levels: installation and integration of the equipment are standardized, press tools can be exchanged within the network, and employees can work at different locations and support each other. An AI-supported camera system contributes to quality control before the parts are transported to the body shop via an underground transport system. Compared to previous structures, output has increased significantly. Steel and aluminum offcuts are collected, sorted, and then used to manufacture new steel or aluminum coils.
