He's tall, athletic, and has a picture-perfect swing. Ludvig Åberg seems designed to be a golf champion, but does this create an unfair level of expectation? We discuss why a bad round isn't a sign of weakness, but simply a part of the game.

00:00I wonder whether he suffers from the sort of the expectation of the eye test
00:04because everything about him looks like he was just designed to play golf, doesn't he?
00:09Like he's six foot whatever, handsome, athletic, swings it with no moving parts,
00:16you know, no sort of ancillary movement that looks awkward.
00:19It just looks so he plays quickly, he dresses phenomenally.
00:25He just looks like he should win every single time he tees up.
00:28And unfortunately, golf just isn't that easy.
00:32And there's also, you know, people want to create these narratives around,
00:37I can't finish this, that and the other.
00:38There's also just the coincidence factor that people play poor rounds of golf sometimes.
00:43People play poor rounds of golf on a Thursday.
00:45People play poor rounds of golf on a Tuesday when they're practicing.
00:48And unfortunately, sometimes your poor day will come when it's, you know, everything's on the line.
00:54And that doesn't necessarily mean it's because you bottled it or because you struggle to cope with the moment.
00:59It can just be sometimes you wake up and you don't quite have what you had.
01:04So maybe I'm being a bit protective on the player side of things there,
01:07but I wouldn't worry about old Ludwig.
01:09And I still think look out for him at Augusta would be my thoughts on that.
01:14Yeah, absolutely.
01:17Although that sort of thing came unraveled a bit for him on the back nine,
01:20like you said, he played some phenomenal golf over the week.
01:23And he's certainly seeming to shake off that slow start he had to the PGA Tour season
01:28where he had a little bit of illness and various other bits.
01:30And you're absolutely right in saying that, you know,
01:32most people would love to be Ludwig Hoberg with everything it is that he does
01:35and everything that he is around golf.
01:37And you're absolutely right in the back nine,
