00:00We want to make peace and stability in the region, not about just Iran, but about all countries in the
00:08region.
00:09The next threat and the next country which the United States and the Israeli regime would make a strike against
00:16them is these countries because of the greater Israel.
00:19The United States and the Israeli regime assassinated every person that they assume they can be a negotiator.
00:28So this is the first issue and it shows how much the United States and the Israeli regime are not
00:34really serious in any negotiation.
00:38Our final aim is forcing the United States and the Israeli regime to evacuate and flee the region and make
00:48this region peace and stability.
00:50I'll begin by asking your thoughts on the West Asia conflict with Donald Trump calling it war while insisting diplomacy
00:58will continue.
00:59How is this dual track approach, military escalation alongside talks being viewed within Iran?
01:08Thank you for having me.
01:10Actually, this war is launched by the United States and the Israeli regime.
01:17And this is the this is not the first time that they launch war against Iran during negotiation.
01:23This is the second time that they launched war during the negotiation.
01:28And even the time that when we signed JCPOA, they do not did their commitment.
01:36Otherwise, Iran did all commitments and IAEA even ratified that Iran does.
01:44But they did not actually did their commitment.
01:49So the important issue is that in what situation these war launched.
01:56So I think the important issue is that we notice the United States and the Israeli regime, what they want
02:09from us.
02:10They they they ask something from us that these are just reminding colonialism and imperialism.
02:19And they do these kind of actually aggression ambitious against Iran and against the region.
02:28The important issue is that Iran announced that never these straight up hormones and regime of maritime in this region
02:35would back to before this war.
02:38And these 47 and years hospitality in the region is just over.
02:45And the important issue about diplomatic diplomatic talks or any ceasefire is that the United States accept that these kind
02:56of hegemony in this region is over.
03:00And this war would not end till the United States and Israeli regime understand this issue.
03:07And what is obvious is that any ceasefire, any talks to ceasefire would lead us to a temporary ceasefire, not
03:20a stable peace.
03:21And this is not what Iranians and Iranian officials want.
03:27Also, after the reported downing of U.S. aircraft, including an A-10 Thunderbolt and F-15E Strike Eagle, does
03:35Iran feel it has gained a strategic upper hand or is there concern that these incidents could trigger a much
03:42wider escalation?
03:46I believe that this is a war, including different battles in some of these short battles, in these small battles,
03:56we will win in some of them, maybe we lose.
03:59But the Iran's ambition and the Iran's aim is winning in this war in comprehensive.
04:06So I think if we, for instance, shoot down one fighter jet, it does not cause we feel we win
04:17or we have upper strategy.
04:19We knew our strength and we knew our weakness point.
04:24We know that every time we know that in Iran, the strength point is about our ground military, not, for
04:32instance, about the about the aerial thing.
04:36But the issue is that the United States and Israeli regime doesn't understand their weakness and their strength point.
04:44So I think we, our aim is not winning in every of these short and small battles.
04:52We want to make peace and stability in the region, not about just Iran, but about all countries in the
05:00region,
05:01about all Persian Gulf countries that are included in greater Israel and the next threat and the next country which
05:11the United States and Israeli regime would make a strike against them is these countries because of the greater Israel.
05:17So our final aim is forcing the United States and Israeli regime to evacuate and flee the region and make
05:28this region peace and stability and making the countries of the of this region to the only actors who can
05:37decide for themselves.
05:39And Ilham, what have you learned so far since you're in Tehran?
05:43What have you learned so far as far as negotiations and talks are concerned?
05:46And Iran has reportedly refused to meet U.S. officials and rejected ceasefire terms as unacceptable.
05:53And at the same time, Trump is talking about opening the Strait of Hormuz.
05:57Is Tehran preparing for a prolonged confrontation or is there still any diplomatic off-ramp left?
06:05The first issue is that, as you can see, the United States and Israeli regime
06:11assassinated assassinated every person that they assume they can be a negotiator.
06:17So this is the first issue.
06:19And it shows how much the United States and Israeli regime are not really serious in any negotiation.
06:26And beside of this, just consider this issue that we were on the negotiation table before they strike war against
06:35us.
06:35And the second issue is that as I am in Tehran and I see how people make rallies every night,
06:46every night in every city of Iran, we have rallies.
06:49And we see how Iranian people said that we have to fight.
06:55We have to continue this war, not because we enjoy this war.
07:00This war has bad consequences for us, for sure.
07:03But the issue is that we do not want this war to stop now.
07:07And again, two months later, they again actually make a war against us.
07:12We want a stable peace.
07:14And this is not the thing that Iran does not want any negotiation.
07:20We are in the table.
07:23We were on the table all of these 20 years ago.
07:27But the issue is that Iran has some aims, for instance, about the maritime regime, about the stability and peace
07:39in the region.
07:39And if all of this happened and also we get assurance that they would not launch war again and again,
07:48we are ready for negotiation and ending this war.
07:53Ilham, just last question, since you are in Tehran, what is the mood on the ground in Iran?
07:58Is there public support for the government's current stance, our economic pressures and sanctions influencing public opinion about continuing this
08:06confrontation?
08:06What is the current mood in the ground?
08:11Actually, I think this war is kind of a turning point in Iran's public opinion.
08:16Maybe before this war and also that 12-day war, maybe some think that we can maybe negotiate or maybe
08:26they think that the United States would survive Iran, help Iranian people.
08:30But now I see many Iranians that maybe they were not in the position of supporting Iranian government.
08:41But now I see them every night in the street and I see kind of unity and solidarity between all
08:50people.
08:50And now the only aim of Iranian people is just stopping this foreign intervention and foreign war that they imposed
08:59against us.
09:00We face many economic problems and I have to emphasize that many of these economic crises that we face is
09:10because of the Western sanctions.
09:13But all of these make some dissatisfaction in Iranian people.
09:18But now all Iranian people know that the most important problem that Iran has is this enemy, which try to
09:30make a problem for Iranian people by sanctions, by coups, by assassination and now by war.
09:39And I think this kind of unity and solidarity that I see between Iranian people is kind of unique.
09:48And I never see this since I'm a journalist and I'm working as a journalist in 30 years and never
09:56I see this kind of solidarity in rallies, in protests and also in Iranian social media.
