Alps, 2024. After years of mass tourism, people are starting to pretend they’ve “rediscovered” the mountains. Bergfahrt doesn’t exactly shout about it. It just shows different ways of looking. A Japanese performance duo approaches the mountain through legends and myths, treating the peak like a living storybook. Then a climber steps in with a different kind of truth, talking about a friend she lost on the Eiger’s north face. And it’s not all poetic grief. A cable car operator also gives his perspective, basically reminding you that infrastructure and romance do not always share the same heart. The result is a quietly critical snapshot of a changing mindset. Not a hype-fest. More like: stand still, watch people’s values collide, and decide what you actually want from the mountains.

2024 in den Alpen: Viele schauen auf Berge wie auf eine Visitenkarte. Der Film Bergfahrt sagt ziemlich trocken: Vielleicht schauen wir mal richtig hin. Statt Action-Kitsch gibt’s ein paar unterschiedliche Zugänge. Ein japanisches Performance-Paar nähert sich dem Berg über Sagen und Mythen, als wäre der Gipfel ein Erzählraum. Dazwischen erzählt eine Bergsteigerin von ihrem Freund, den sie an der Eigernordwand verloren hat. Und dann kommt dieser Kontrast-Ton: Ein Bergbahner, der seine Sicht erklärt, und damit auch gleich zeigt, wie stark sich Perspektiven unterscheiden können, wenn Geld, Alltag und Sehnsucht zusammenprallen. Kein großes Manifest, eher ein Spiegel. Und die Frage bleibt: Was ist bei uns eigentlich “Berg”, wenn alle dieselbe Route nehmen?
