00:00I'm going to be here. I'm going to be here to see myself.
00:04Meet Balwinder Singh, a 30-year-old turban artist from Dhurandar.
00:14He is the man behind the iconic turban looks in Dhurandar, from Aatik Ahmed and Shirani to the striking Balots.
00:29This included Ranveer Singh's now viral turban from this scene.
00:37Singh's own journey from Amrit Singh's Golden Temple to the sets of Dhurandar is equally gripping.
00:51He started working at a textile shop near the Golden Temple for Rs 15,000.
00:56He tied turbans for tourists, sometimes even for free.
01:03It was during this time, around 2020-21, that he met a TV crew shooting there.
01:08They later reached out to him to tie a turban for the Anupam Kher-led film, Calorie.
01:13But his years of practice truly paid off when,
01:21He was called for an audition in Amritsar, got selected,
01:24and then followed the team around as they shot in different locations.
01:37That's Singh at Dhurandar's set in Leh, Ladakh.
01:40Singh says the Balochistani and Shere Baloch turbans pushed him out of his comfort zone.
01:49From lead actors to background dancers,
01:52every Balochistani turban was his work.
02:02People loved his turban so much that they even said that Aditya Dhar and Ranveer wanted to learn from him.
02:08So, he said that Aditya Dhar has taught me a lot to learn from him.
