00:04I listen to the sounds of my surroundings, wondering when they will end.
00:09Every night I get ready for bed, knowing I will not sleep, knowing that all I am getting
00:16ready for is the terrifying thoughts that enter my mind.
00:23As I taste the minty flavor of my toothpaste that I have tasted time and time and night
00:29and night again, I am given a haunting preview of the terrors that await.
00:38Now I stare at my bed, knowing I must enter it, knowing I must lay down, put the soft covers
00:45over myself and experience the horrible visions.
00:52I lay here, stiff as a corpse, barely moving an inch.
00:58I try to close my eyes, I do, but the thoughts start coming and coming.
01:04The first vision is always the hand of the door.
01:09I don't really, I don't know why I fear the hand as much as I do.
01:13It never tries to grab me, it never has tried to grab me.
01:17It just stays at the door and continues to tap my door gently.
01:23What is even scarier is the window.
01:26When I stare out the window, I always think someone is watching me.
01:31I can't always see them, necessarily, at least not nearby.
01:38But in the distance, I always, always think someone is watching me.
01:44And I always wonder what creatures or people are lurking out there, if anyone.
01:48I wonder if they always circle around my house, coming to get me.
01:54The bed is one of the scariest of them all.
01:57Uh, the bed is scary, because it's unexpected.
02:01And it's, uh, um, anything could grab me if it wanted to.
02:06There's so much space under the bed, um, I mean, it would be crazy not to believe that
02:11someone or something could be under their right.
02:12And, and every night, I hear banging.
02:16Every night, I hear banging from the closet.
02:18It gets louder, and louder, and louder as my fear gets worse and worse.
02:23I know someone is trying to get in.
02:25They're trying to get at me.
02:27But why?
02:28I, wha-
02:29What have I done?
02:30What have I done?
02:31To deserve this torment?
02:33What do these monsters want?
02:34My blood?
02:35My brain?
02:36My heart?
02:38Or maybe even my soul?
02:50You know, I lay on the cold, hard floor.
02:53My body's completely frozen.
02:55I hear nothing.
02:56I see, I see nothing but the floor and the bottom of my wall.
03:01All I feel is fear, and it's, it's a tangible fear.
03:05It's, it's fear that whatever was in my closet will get me if I don't get up.
03:09But I cannot move my body to flee.
03:11After a few seconds, I, I finally muster up the strength to get up and look at my surroundings.
03:16I look at the door like it was some alien object from a whole other planet and it may
03:21as well be.
03:22I then make my way slowly and fearfully through the door, fearing what might be on the other
03:29side.
03:29As I hold the knob to my bedroom door, I think about what could be behind the door.
03:33There's so many things that, uh, a monster, a person who's ready to kill me, who, who's
03:39been wanting to, to end me and, and take my life and, or, or, or maybe it's something that
03:45my own mind cannot even begin to comprehend.
03:48I, uh, either way, I know I have to open the door and face my demons.
03:53I get a hold of myself and turn the knob and quickly open the door.
04:15And then I need to shake your eyes on the door.
04:19And, and then I'll maybe go back and ask, what can I do?
04:25Like I'm looking at the door and go out, I cantez my smartphone.
04:26You can't wait I can't wait.
04:26If I'm looking at the door.
04:29And then you go up and see them in the door and then I can see them in the door.
