00:00Today begins one of the most challenging journeys of my life.
00:05For years I avoided traveling to this country, out of fear, prejudice, and everything I had heard about it.
00:11But finally, after 6 years traveling through more than 106 countries,
00:16I decided it was time to face my fears and live this unique experience.
00:21So in this video I want to share with you how I prepare for this adventure
00:25which many consider dangerous, especially for a woman.
00:30Stay until the end, because this is just the beginning.
00:33I heard many things about this country, that it wasn't safe for a woman to travel here,
00:39who harassed women and tourists, and who often ended up getting sick from the food and water
00:46and many other things.
00:47And all of this made me not want to travel here.
00:50Until now, I'm going to show you my reality and let you know exactly what this experience will be like.
00:55In 2023 alone, more than 448,000 crimes against women were reported in this country.
01:03of which almost 30,000 were rapes.
01:06It is also among the most polluted countries, with the worst air quality in the world.
01:11For all these reasons, I postponed this trip so many times, especially after my visa was denied 3 times.
01:18After investigating a little, I assumed it was because he listed his profession as journalist.
01:23So I tried a fourth time with a new passport and put my profession as merchant,
01:28which is also true because I have my own swimsuit brand and it was approved there.
01:32I'm preparing my outfits because for this trip I want to be more covered up than usual.
01:37First, to respect their culture, and second, because I don't want to attract too much attention.
01:41So this time I chose long-sleeved things, things that make me look flirty, yes,
01:46but at the same time, they were well covered up.
01:49I'm also bringing things that are characteristic of their culture, with a lot of gold.
01:54This, which will obviously also be a skirt to cover me up a little on occasion.
01:59And this dress, although it's not my style, is very pretty.
02:04It's a little wrinkled, but I even brought a steam iron so people could see me in this.
02:10How do I look? I don't know if I'm a little over the top, but I like it because I feel like it fits.
02:14in tune with the country.
02:16I've already packed everything and this is the only thing I was missing.
02:18To be honest, I don't know if I'll be wearing swimsuits in India, but just in case,
02:23This doesn't take up much space, so it's best to put them in the suitcase too.
02:26This may seem a bit exaggerated, but in a country where so many travelers get sick from food and from
02:32water,
02:33I prefer to prevent rather than regret.
02:34So I'm taking a lot of pills for my stomach, for my head,
02:38even for respiratory illnesses, because there is also a lot of pollution.
02:42I had this saved and I'm also wearing it.
02:44And lots of protein because I've seen that the food there is spicy.
02:48So if I don't feel like it, I'll stick to protein.
02:58I have a mixture of fear and excitement.
03:01On the one hand, I must confess that I feel terrified to face everything I saw,
03:06what I heard, what I read.
03:08And at the same time, I'm incredibly excited to visit such a different country.
03:13with such a different culture.
03:14I know that prejudices often don't reflect reality,
03:18So I want to find out for myself.
03:29I'm already at the boarding gate and I feel like I have goosebumps.
03:33I have too many emotions.
03:35Oh my God, wish me luck because we're going to Delhi!
03:39My first time in India.
03:42I'm so happy.
03:44And that's it, I hope you'll be part of this adventure.
03:46It's going to be about an eight-hour flight.
03:49My plane is already there and we'll be flying in just a few minutes.
04:01My travelers, I was officially there in India.
04:05It was all very quick at the airport, immigration really.
04:09They didn't ask me anything at all.
04:10I put my fingerprints and that was it, I waited for my luggage.
04:13And now we're heading out to see what Delhi is like.
04:16I'm so nervous, happy, excited.
04:19We just left the airport.
04:21It's already sounding like all the horns, the trumpet, the traffic.
04:24But I feel it's going to be a nice experience.
04:37The taxi dropped me off a little further on.
04:39I'm arriving at the hotel.
04:41I'm already starting to feel the chaos a little.
04:44But so far I'm liking it.
04:46I think this is it.
04:48Lots of cable and lots of people, even though it's very early.
04:51It's only about six thirty in the morning.
04:55One Sunday.
04:57But I liked it.
05:04I already checked in at the hotel.
05:06I think it's quite beautiful.
05:07And let's see how the room is for $50 a night.
05:12Come in, my travelers.
05:14It looks quite comfortable and cozy.
05:16And although I had seen hotels for $10, $20 a night,
05:20To be honest, I didn't want to go for the cheapest option.
05:23And I think this one is quite pretty.
05:25Let's see how the bathroom is.
05:28That seems fine to me.
05:29He's comfortable.
05:36I took a shower, changed, and had the option of sleeping and resting for a while.
05:41or go for a walk, a stroll.
05:43I can already hear quite a bit of traffic.
05:45However, not as much as I imagined.
05:48And that's because today is Sunday and I suppose tomorrow will be Monday.
05:51Yes, it's going to be much, much stronger.
05:53I wanted to go for a walk around here and so far everything is calm.
06:06This is a bad thing that is a garland of flowers.
06:10And this is usually how they welcome people who arrive in India.
06:13And I already have mine, which just happens to match my whole outfit.
06:23This little market is just a 5-minute walk from my hotel.
06:28that they put it up every day.
06:29And from what I can see, the locals come here to buy fruits, vegetables, and flowers.
06:35And I wanted to stop by here for a bit to see what's going on.
06:38However, the truth is that I was expecting much, much more chaos, too many people.
06:43And I suppose that because it's Sunday I've been a little calmer than I imagined.
06:53Here today comes a tuk-tuk, which you could say is the most traditional, most common way
06:58to get around in India.
07:00A lot of noise, whistles.
07:02And they go quite fast.
07:04Look.
07:05This is just the beginning of an experience that I know will mark my life forever.
07:10If you want to join me on this journey full of fears, challenges, spirituality, and discoveries,
