00:00I felt as though I was on the brink of meeting a friend. Later that day, I reflected on the
00:04moments
00:05in life when I have received a high five. Obviously, I thought about participating in
00:10team sports as a child. I remembered the road races I ran with friends, or enjoying baseball
00:15matches at Fenway Park, where the arena erupts with high fives when the Red Sox score, or giving
00:21a high five to a friend after they got that promotion, or after they ended things with that
00:26loser, or when they won a hand in a card game. Then I recalled one of the greatest moments
00:32of my life completing the New York City Marathon in 2001. It was only two months after the
00:389-11 terrorist attacks that killed 2,977 people and destroyed the Twin Towers. For 26.2 miles,
00:48spectators lined the pavements. As far as the eye could see, American flags hung from domestic
00:54windows as the route snaked through all five boroughs that make up New York City.
