The UN Security Council is set to vote on a resolution for member states to secure passage in the Strait of Hormuz, which remains largely cut off to global shipping amid the Iran conflict.

00:23and it her attempts to interfere with navigation for at least six months.
00:27Countries acting alone or in multinational naval partnerships could also take defensive means,
00:33provided advance notice is given to the Security Council.
00:37However, a final draft proposal showed that this part was removed,
00:41following objections by Russia and China during negotiations.
00:45A vote was originally scheduled for Friday,
00:47but UN diplomats reportedly say it has been postponed to Saturday.
