00:04A story of a mother, a warrior, and a hero of Islam.
00:10Meet Umm Amara, Radiallahu Anha, also known as Nuseba Bent Ka'ab.
00:18Most of us have heard the name Umm Amara, but few know the courage behind it.
00:24She was not just a woman of faith, she was a mother, a fighter, and a pillar of support for
00:30the Prophet, Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
00:34Can you imagine standing on a battlefield while your loved ones are around you, knowing danger is everywhere?
00:44At the Battle of Uhud, Umm Amara initially went to provide water for the thirsty and to care for the
00:51injured.
00:51She did not carry a sword, a bow, or an arrow, she had not come to fight.
00:57Imagine the heat, the clashing of swords, the cries of the wounded, dust flying everywhere, the smell of blood and
01:06fear,
01:06and yet she moved steadily among the companions, offering comfort and support.
01:12But then the unexpected happened.
01:15The archers disobeyed the Prophet and abandoned their position to collect the war booty, thinking the battle was won.
01:22The tide of the battle suddenly turned against the Muslims.
01:27Many companions were martyred or fled in confusion.
01:30The Prophet himself was injured and his teeth were broken.
01:34When Umm Amara saw the Prophet bleeding, she dropped her vessel of water without a second thought.
01:41She snatched a sword from a fleeing fighter and a bow and arrow from another.
01:46She stepped forward to defend the Prophet herself.
01:50The Prophet said,
01:51Whenever I turned left or right on the day of Uhud, I always saw her defending me.
01:58She even bandaged her wounded son and then told him,
02:02Go, fight for a law.
02:05Could you encourage your child to fight for a just cause while they are injured?
02:10That is the essence of her courage and faith.
02:14That day, Umm Amara received 13 wounds,
02:18including a deep neck injury that stayed with her till her death,
02:22yet she did not retreat.
02:24She later participated in the Battle of Yamama against Musaylama,
02:30where she received 11 more wounds and lost her hand in combat.
02:34Her son was tortured and martyred,
02:37yet she continued fighting with resolve.
02:40She tracked down the enemy Musaylama through the chaos of the battlefield
02:44and killed him after Washi pierced him with a javelin.
02:49Imagine the strength it takes to face such brutality
02:52and still remains steadfast in faith.
02:56If you were in her place,
02:58how would you find the courage to continue fighting
03:01when everything you love is under threat?
03:04What can we learn from Umm Amara's story?
03:08Bravery is not just facing danger yourself,
03:11it is also inspiring others to do the right thing,
03:15even your own children.
03:16As mothers,
03:18as parents,

03:24and her resolve
03:25allowed her to guide her son
03:27towards courage,

03:31Her story teaches us that real strength
03:33is not in the absence of fear,
03:36but in acting rightly despite fear.
03:39She sacrificed comfort,
03:41safety,
03:42and even family
03:43for the cause of Allah and Islam.
03:46Bravery is standing for what is right,
03:49protecting others,
03:51and remaining steadfast in faith.
